Within the framework of the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 of Hue Festival 2024, on the evening of June 10, thousands of audiences in the ancient capital and tourists coming to Hue on this occasion were lucky enough to enjoy a vibrant and romantic performance by the Hispano music group (Spain).
This is the first night this band serves the audience on the community stage at Hue National University.
Artists from the Hispano band (Spain) perform at the Hue National Academy stage on June 10.
Inspired by the classics of the Concierto de Aranjuez music through tango dance, Albéniz's Asturian melodies along with zapateo dance steps and the joy that Flamenco music brings, it creates a bustling, vibrant atmosphere.
The audience of the ancient capital of Hue had an emotional night with international art troupes at the Hue National Academy Stage.
Hispano is a Flamenco band from Barcelona (Spain) consisting of 3 members: Raúl Heredia (cello), De la Vega (guitar) and Ruth Quesada (dancer). Hispano's music is a combination of the elegance of Spanish classical music and the intensity of Flamenco rhythms.
Artists came down to the stage to interact with the audience and children.
In the band Hispano, De la Vega played the guitar and danced the "zapateo" at the same time. The combination of the three band members created wonderful performances that made the audience applaud nonstop. The audience enjoyed the performance, with all ages, most of whom were captivated by the artists.
Dance group Double Impro from Wallonie Bruxelles, Belgium brought an impressive show.
Also at the Bia Quoc Hoc stage, before that, the dance group Double Impro from Wallonie Bruxelles, Belgium brought an impressive program.
The Double Impro dance group, carrying the breath of youthful hip hop culture, represents artistic innovation when their works are full of spontaneous interactions with the audience, breaking the standards of traditional programs. The Double Impro dance group's performance continuously received applause from the audience. The stage lights, the purple, blue, yellow, red... of the raincoats and the cheers of the audience made the atmosphere in this stage area vibrant, overwhelming the sound of the rain.
Founded in 2020, the dance group Double Impro consists of four artists who perform works that are primarily based on improvisation and interaction with the audience. The public is immersed in this experience by having the opportunity to interact directly with the artists.
The vibrant hip hop dances of the artists have captivated Hue's youth.
According to the dance group, the program "Conversation" that Double Impro introduces to the public at Hue Festival 2024 is a performance form that brings together artists from many different backgrounds to share their stories through dance. As its name suggests - "Conversation" revolves around genuine exchanges, questions, mutual understanding, humility and balance.
During the performance, dancers meet each other on stage as if for the first time, and through movement, they weave an intimate conversation. Every movement, choreography, and gesture is a response to what the other dancers offer, creating a fluid harmony between different artistic expressions. Dancers share not only their skills and techniques, but also their subtle expressions, experiences, and emotions, creating a deep and engaging dialogue with the audience. "Dialogue" celebrates diversity, connection, and the power of non-verbal communication through dance.
Bringing Festival to Hospital
Not only serving the community at the park, many attractive international art programs have also been performed at Hue Central Hospital to serve the patient audience.
On the evening of June 10, the Eisa Urakaji Drum Dance troupe participating in Hue Festival 2024 also brought wonderful moments of relaxation to patients being treated at Hue Central Hospital.
Patients treated at Hue Central Hospital enjoy Japanese drum dance art
The sound of the drums is heroic, strong, refreshing and youthful, mixed with the sound of whistling in the cheerful Okinawan songs, making everyone wave their hands along. In particular, the appearance of the Shishi lion, a symbol of luck and health in Japanese culture, made many children excited when they touched and caressed it, hoping for good health and recovery.
The Eisa Urakaji Drum Dance Troupe was established by Okinawa International University in 2002, with the mission of creating and breathing new life into performances combining drums and lion dances, while still maintaining the performance style and characteristics of traditional Okinawan art.
Patient audience had wonderful relaxing moments with Japanese drum dance art
With the bustling drum beats, the traditional Eisa dance with a long history of Okinawa, Japan, also brought patients wonderful cultural experiences. Through Eisa, Japanese people pay respect to their ancestors during vibrant summer festivals. The dancers with beautiful and enthusiastic movements in harmony with the Taiko drum beats create a strong, youthful atmosphere like the name "Urakaji" (wonderful refreshing breeze).
Patient Ho Bao T., who is being treated at the hospital's Rehabilitation Department, asked his family to push him in a wheelchair to enjoy the program. Mr. T. said that he had been in the hospital for 7 months and was craving to see art and music programs to change the atmosphere. "I've been following the Hue Festival 2024 on social media for the past few days, but I didn't expect to see a live performance right in the hospital today. So happy!"
Hue Festival has been going on from the first days until today, besides OFF programs (with tickets), there are always ON programs (free community) for locals and tourists, creating opportunities for the public to enjoy international music. This is a remarkable humane feature of Hue Festival so far.
