Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung said that there are currently about 260 Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Cuba. The representative agency and the Vietnamese community in Cuba always maintain very close contact, actively carrying out citizen protection work in Cuba as well as in the areas where they are concurrently assigned.
Overseas Vietnamese living in Cuba have stable jobs and living standards, always looking towards their homeland. Vietnamese students studying abroad achieve good academic results. Enterprises are also a bright spot in the field of investment cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
In general, the Vietnamese community in Cuba always complies with local laws and regulations, actively participates in many social activities and cultural exchanges, contributing to spreading the good values and images of the country and people of Vietnam.

Over the past time, the Embassy has always focused on building close and trustworthy relationships with leaders of the Party, State, ministries, departments, branches and localities of Cuba.
Ambassador Le Thanh Tung said: “Determining economic diplomacy as a key task, the Representative Office has taken the people and businesses as the center of service, closely connecting with the business community in general, especially Vietnamese businesses “standing” in the area. The Embassy always exchanges information promptly, providing maximum support when businesses encounter difficulties and obstacles in implementing projects or seeking investment and business opportunities in Cuba”.
Besides, cultural diplomacy and foreign information work are carried out in many rich and diverse forms.
Business representatives and international students shared their feelings and thoughts as well as proposed many specific recommendations to support and help the people, thereby contributing to further strengthening the extremely special relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed: “The Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people of Vietnam will never forget Cuba's wholehearted support during the time when Vietnam was still in the midst of war. They will always value, preserve and further deepen the traditional relationship of solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, stand side by side in supporting the just revolutionary cause of the Cuban people and will continue to make efforts with Cuba to overcome current difficulties.”
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the Vietnamese community living and studying in Cuba and the representative agency for their dedicated, responsible and enthusiastic activities in preserving and promoting the special and exemplary solidarity between the two countries.
Believing in the strength of its people and the support of the world, the Deputy Prime Minister believes that Cuba will overcome current challenges and difficulties and become a market full of potential. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that overseas Vietnamese in Cuba will continue to participate in cultural connections and promote investment, production and business activities.
Along with solutions to current difficulties, Vietnamese enterprises need new forms of cooperation to promote Cuba's strengths and achievements in scientific research, transfer of biotechnology, medicine, etc. to bring about real and effective economic benefits.
Affirming: “Economy is a diplomatic activity that contributes to tightening the special friendship and cooperation between the two countries”, the Deputy Prime Minister also advised international students to strive to study and acquire knowledge in fields in which Cuba is among the top in the world such as medicine, biotechnology, infrastructure construction, etc.

Also at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha reported on the socio-economic situation and some outstanding foreign affairs activities of the country in recent times.
Accordingly, Vietnam's position, role and prestige are increasingly enhanced in the world. At multilateral conferences and forums, Vietnam's voice is always highly respected by countries, especially developing countries, as it always demonstrates responsibility and commitment to global issues, promotes multilateralism and respects international law.

The Deputy Prime Minister also informed the community about the results of the G77 and China Conference that Cuba had successfully organized, thereby mobilizing support and solidarity among developing countries, accounting for 80% of the population and 2/3 of the countries in the world. The initiatives and contributions of the Vietnamese delegation were highly appreciated at the Conference, thereby demonstrating the role and responsibility for the issues of developing countries.
In addition, developed countries and international organizations also highly appreciate Vietnam for its achievements in sustainable development, focusing on people; strong commitment to reducing net greenhouse gas emissions to “0”; proactively participating in the fair energy transition roadmap...
Vietnam has signed free trade agreements with all major economies in the world.
