Ms. Trinh Thi Nhung - Principal of Binh Thuy Primary School said: This is the second consecutive year that the school has had many students competing and winning high prizes. This year, the school has 9 students divided into 5 teams competing, of which 1 team won First Prize and 1 team won Encouragement Prize in the intermediate category.

Specifically, Truong Nguyen Tri and Nguyen Pham Lam Phong (class 5A2, both won First Prize), and Nguyen Minh Khang (class 3A1, won Encouragement Prize.

Ms. Pham Thi Truc Linh, a teacher who directly teaches Computer Science and reviews for students at Binh Thuy Primary School, commented: The theme of this year's competition is "Digital Nexus - Industrial Revolution 5.0". In previous years, students only had to run the robot and perform 1-2 random tasks at the end. This year, in addition to programming the robot to run, students also installed an AI model using electrical circuits and had up to 3 random tasks.

"This year's competition is more difficult than previous years with many tasks, and there is not much time to prepare for the international competition. However, with their best efforts, the students have achieved high results for the Can Tho team." - Ms. Linh said.

Nguyen Pham Lam Phong (class 5A2, won first prize) shared: Before the competition, we tried hard to review for the exam and when taking the direct exam, I ran the robot, examined it to detect errors to correct and discussed with my teammates to come up with the best solution. Through the competition, I feel more confident and can exchange and learn about Robothon with students from other countries."

Ms. Trinh Thi Nhung shared: Binh Thuy Primary School is one of the schools chosen as a typical innovation school; to approach the new educational program, especially skills subjects, the school has opened many extracurricular skills classes for students.

"Especially, we are collaborating with units to provide additional English and IT training for students. In particular, the School has collaborated with a technology company to teach students about computer science programming and Robothon exam preparation with a schedule of 2 sessions/week. Students study this program every year, taught from grades 1-5." - Ms. Nhung shared.

Ms. Pham Thi Truc Linh shared the secret to helping the school always win high prizes in Robothon competitions: As an IT teacher at the school, she has discovered students with programming talent to nurture and participate in the competition. In addition to class time, she coordinates with parents so that students have more time to practice. To help students gain more experience, she will organize mock competitions so that students can practice and predict situations that may arise and find solutions.

The 2024 International Robothon Competition with the theme “Digital Nexus - Industrial Revolution 5.0” is a science and technology arena that helps students compete on an international scale, enhance their competitiveness and discover their excellence in the field of STEM Robotics. Competition categories include: Elementary 7 - 9 years old; Intermediate 9 - 12 years old; Advanced 11 - 15 years old; Elite 15 - 18 years old.

This year, the Vietnamese team achieved impressive results with 19 awards, including: 1 Championship in the Primary category (Le Ngoc Han Primary School, Ho Chi Minh City); 1 First Prize in the Intermediate category (Binh Thuy Primary School, Can Tho City); 10 Third Prizes and 7 Encouragement Prizes.
