According to fishermen, anchovies have been appearing in the Mui Ne sea area for the past two weeks. In the early days, the selling price ranged from 32,000 to 35,000 VND/kg. By April 12th, due to the increased supply, the price fluctuated between 25,000 and 27,000 VND/kg, mainly for black anchovies.

Mr. Huynh Van An, a fish carrier working for hire in the Mui Ne coastal area, shared: "Each plastic basket holds 15 kg of fish. I get paid 3,000 - 5,000 VND for carrying each basket, earning 400,000 - 500,000 VND each morning."
Ms. Le Thi Kim Hang, a local resident, said that she is a housewife and, in her free time, comes here to help carry fish to earn extra income.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay, a fish trader at Mui Ne beach, happily said: "In recent days, due to the large quantity of fresh fish caught by fishermen, I have been buying hundreds of tons each day, supplying them to processing facilities such as anchovy steaming plants and fish sauce producers."
Not only in the Mui Ne sea area, but also in some other coastal areas of the La Gi region, fishermen are having a bumper anchovy catch at this time, making them very happy.
According to Lam Dong province statistics, in the first months of the year, weather conditions and fishing grounds were relatively favorable, allowing fishing vessels to operate stably at sea. Anchovy stocks were particularly abundant, creating favorable conditions for small purse seine and trawling vessels. Fishing grounds were mainly concentrated in the inshore areas of the province, south of Phu Quy Island, Con Son Island, etc. The estimated seafood catch for the first quarter of 2026 reached 53,257.3 tons, an increase of 3.5% (marine catch reached 53,109 tons, also an increase of 3.5%).
