The reason is that many people's views on Tet have changed compared to before. After completing traditional rituals, many people choose to travel to relax with their families.
Most people travel by private car, only booking rooms and food services through travel agencies. Some popular tours are: Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Ha Giang, Moc Chau (Son La) and some central provinces. The number of people booking air tickets, going on tours far away such as Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, the western provinces is less. The number of customers choosing foreign tours such as China, Korea, Japan... is not much.
Most people leave on the second day of Tet, with tours lasting 2-3 days. According to representatives of some travel agencies, prices for food and accommodation services at tourist destinations during Tet this year have increased by 30-50% compared to normal days.
