Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health - the Standing Agency of the Provincial Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise on the issuance of a Plan and implementation of measures to ensure food safety, monitor food safety risks, and prevent food poisoning in the area in accordance with the actual situation in the locality; in which it requires strict implementation of Directive No. 17/CT-TTg dated April 13, 2020 of the Prime Minister on continuing to strengthen the responsibility of state management of food safety in the new situation, Directive No. 38/CT-TTg dated October 11, 2024 on strengthening food poisoning prevention, emphasizing the content that leaders at all levels must be responsible for violations of food safety laws in the area.

Authorities and localities, according to their functions, tasks and authority, must strengthen food safety and food poisoning prevention in the area, especially in key areas, tourist areas, school kitchens, industrial zones, street food, food service establishments for workers, students, tourists, etc. In particular, focus on guiding collective kitchens to select, process, preserve and use food and food ingredients to ensure safety, especially paying attention not to use fake and poor quality food and food ingredients that have been discovered and widely announced by the police recently.

At the same time, organize peak periods to review and inspect the compliance with the law on pharmaceuticals and food safety for establishments trading in medicines and health protection foods in the area and strictly handle violations according to regulations; inspect and handle the advertising and trading of medicines and health protection foods on the internet or on mass media; urgently review and recall fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods that have been discovered in the area to promptly prevent and minimize harm to people.

Strengthen inter-sectoral work in inspection, examination and post-inspection of ready-to-eat food processing establishments, collective kitchens in industrial parks, schools and food service establishments, street food establishments, establishments producing and trading bottled and canned drinking water; pay attention to appropriate monitoring and guidance measures for mobile cooking services, party meals, wedding parties, and crowded death anniversaries in the management area.

Proactively review regulations on food safety for food products, especially dairy products, nutritional products, and functional foods, and propose to competent authorities to amend current regulations if necessary to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of food safety management.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to strengthen market management, inspection and examination of food products on the market, focusing on detecting, preventing and handling raw materials of unknown origin, fake food, fake health protection food, poor quality food on the market; checking and reviewing e-commerce trading floors, e-commerce sales applications, e-commerce sales websites to detect food products that have not been declared, violate advertising... to remove information.

The provincial police continue to monitor the situation, promptly detect and prevent violations and handle violations of the law related to the production and trade of fake medicines, fake drugs and fake health protection foods in the area.
