WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, after many years on the market, has just officially launched a version dedicated to Apple's iPad. This information was announced by WhatsApp's official account on the social network X yesterday, marking an important step forward when iPad users can now download and use the application right on the App Store.
WhatsApp for iPad supports group video and audio calls for up to 32 people, making it easier and more flexible to connect with friends, family or colleagues. In addition, users can share their screen during calls, and use both the front and rear cameras of the device, providing a quality and diverse video calling experience.

Not only that, WhatsApp on iPad also takes full advantage of iPadOS's multitasking features such as Stage Manager, Split View and Slide Over, allowing you to easily send messages while doing other things on the device. The application is also perfectly compatible with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, helping users to operate quickly and conveniently, from typing to drawing notes, multitasking effectively on iPad.
WhatsApp claims that all your data will always sync seamlessly between your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices, and all your messages, calls, and media are protected by end-to-end encryption. With chat locking, you can rest assured that your conversations will remain private, even if you share your iPad with others.
In addition to WhatsApp, Meta is also the company that owns many other popular applications such as Facebook, Threads and Instagram. Of which, Facebook has a dedicated version for iPad, while Threads application is currently only supported on iPhone. Notably, Instagram version for iPad is also in the process of development and will be launched soon in the future.
