On the morning of April 15, the news of CEO Tim Cook's visit to Vietnam attracted widespread attention from the technology community in general and the domestic Apple product user community. The leader of the Cupertino-based company (California, USA) was in Hanoi and is expected to have a 2-day business trip to meet with prominent content creators and application developers on the App Store.

The event of CEO Tim Cook coming to Vietnam immediately made the community of Apple device and service users expect that the company will soon open at least one physical Apple Store on the street in Vietnam in the near future. Previously, in May 2023, the online Apple Store in Vietnam officially went into operation, significantly contributing to increasing choices for users.

On the Tinh Te technology forum, many users left comments on the article related to CEO Tim Cook's arrival in Vietnam on the morning of April 15, believing that this was a sign that there would be a physical Apple Store. In posts shared in many Apple groups, the technology community on Facebook also received a series of similar comments.

The possibility of opening a physical Apple Store has long been mentioned by many industry experts, some of whom revealed the expected launch date to be 2024. Business circles assess that in recent years, Vietnam has continuously improved its prospects "in the eyes of Apple", and the company has also offered more incentives through expanding its product and service range. In addition to launching an online Apple Store, in 2023, the company will also open the Apple Pay payment service and by early 2024, it will deploy a series of vehicles and map photography equipment to improve the quality and accuracy of Apple Maps in Vietnam.

In addition, some people also believe that the trip shows that Apple really appreciates and cares more about the Vietnamese market as the company has mentioned several times before. This could open up the possibility that "apple" will pay more attention to the products and services it is providing here, including fixing some bugs that have existed for many years such as the default Vietnamese typing on macOS or adding Vietnamese language to Siri.

Siri is a virtual assistant launched by Apple in 2011, integrated on many devices manufactured by the company. After many updates and additions of many different languages in the world , the program still cannot communicate in Vietnamese. One of the reasons why Vietnamese people believe in change is that Apple has recently increased its search for personnel, recruiting language engineers for Siri as well as people working in the field of machine learning and AI to support the Vietnamese market.

Along with Tim Cook’s trip to Vietnam, Apple’s website also announced an increased commitment to Vietnam, including increased spending on suppliers and funding for clean water initiatives in local schools. The company said it recently partnered with global clean water organization Gravity Water to install rainwater harvesting systems in schools in Hoa Binh . The project will reach 131 schools by the end of this month, providing safe, reliable water year-round to more than 42,000 students, teachers, and families.

Apple has previously launched its Power for Impact initiative to bring clean energy to schools in rural Vietnam, including partnering with the TRE Foundation to install solar panels in 20 schools in rural Vietnam. The company also supports sustainability and STEM education for children.
