Born in a remote and impoverished village, Mr. Ho Van Hai's family, like many other Van Kieu households, relied solely on slash-and-burn farming methods. Ensuring daily sustenance for his family was a difficult task, let alone saving for the future.
Recognizing that change was necessary to escape poverty, Mr. Hai proactively researched and transformed his crop structure. He chose KM94 cassava as his main crop, replanned his farmland, and applied strict technical procedures from seed selection to cultivation. As a result, the model yields a stable output of 80-90 tons of fresh tubers per year.

Not stopping there, he continued to invest in planting honey bananas on the remaining land. To date, his family owns more than 2 hectares of cassava and 1.5 hectares of bananas with over 600 trees thriving. Alongside developing his farming model, Mr. Hai also maintains the traditional craft of brewing rice wine with herbal yeast to both increase his income and preserve the "essence" of the Van Kieu people.
Mr. Hai shared: “The more I understand the hardships of this disadvantaged area, the more determined I am to strive to secure a better future for my children. As long as we work hard and learn, the land will not let us down. I hope to continue developing this model and helping the villagers so that our village can change for the better.”
Reputation comes from exemplary conduct.
With an average annual income of over 200 million VND, Mr. Ho Van Hai not only built a solid house but also raised five children to be successful in their studies. To date, three of his children have graduated from university, one is in 12th grade, and one has a stable job. Notably, all of his children have good moral character, with two having the honor of joining the Party and his youngest daughter currently undergoing the process of being considered for Party membership.
