With Tet (Lunar New Year) fast approaching, online shopping and delivery services in Ha Tinh are booming, providing attentive service and fully meeting the Tet shopping needs of customers, especially office workers.
With the development of technology and social media, nowadays, housewives no longer necessarily have to go to traditional markets or supermarkets to shop. Instead, they can simply sit at home and buy basic Tet (Lunar New Year) supplies for their families using online markets.

Ms. Le Thi Xuan (Tran Phu Ward - Ha Tinh City) said: “The end-of-year work at the office is so busy that we can't go to the market or supermarket to shop. My colleagues and I just take advantage of ordering handmade food and household items online to save time. From clothes, shoes, food to home decorations, everything is readily available on websites and Facebook, so it's very convenient.”
To save costs and for the convenience of both sellers and buyers, Ms. Xuan and her colleagues also choose to order goods from the same store or recommend reputable addresses to each other through acquaintances.
With the demand for handmade food increasing during the Lunar New Year season, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet (owner of an online shop in Bac Ha ward, Ha Tinh city) has received quite a few orders.
Also prioritizing online shopping, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen (Thach Quy Ward - Ha Tinh City) shared: “Not only during Tet but also on regular days, I have the habit of shopping online because I don't have much time to go shopping. This Tet, I called to order essential items for my family through a familiar contact. I just registered the quantity and delivery time, and they shipped them to my house right before Tet.”
With high demand for shopping during Tet (Lunar New Year) and limited customer time, shop owners, supermarkets, and online retailers have had to adjust their customer service plans. Specializing in ready-made food and offerings of sticky rice and chicken, Ms. Le Thi Bich Ngoc (Facebook: Le Ngoc's Kitchen) started taking Tet orders a month in advance.
Ms. Le Thi Bich Ngoc has prepared a diverse menu to meet customer demand during the Lunar New Year through online sales.
Ms. Ngoc said: “Every year I have to finalize orders early to have time to prepare ingredients, mobilize family members, and hire acquaintances to work with me to ensure quality and timely delivery. To date, we have received hundreds of orders in the city and surrounding areas; we will deliver the goods from the 23rd to the 29th of Tet (Lunar New Year) according to customer requests.”
Although not professional traders, many people take advantage of the period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) to post items such as offerings for religious ceremonies, fresh flowers, ornamental plants, and home decorations on their personal Facebook pages to earn extra income.
Most items are readily available to consumers on the "online Tet market".
The bustling online shopping scene has led to an equally busy delivery service. With less time to deliver orders than usual, many online shop owners have contacted suppliers to find additional shippers to handle deliveries in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year).
According to shipping companies, the period from the end of November to the Lunar New Year is always the peak season for parcel and package delivery. The volume of orders during this time increases by 30-50% compared to normal days of the year. To meet customer demand, delivery companies have to add more delivery staff.
Online shop owners prioritize quality and invest in product design to satisfy customers.
Nguyen Huy Thinh, a delivery driver, said: "Even though the company has added staff, there are many orders at the end of the year, and the pressure on delivery time is also greater, so we have to focus on the delivery process to ensure that goods and packages are not lost and reach customers as quickly as possible."
Lunar New Year is a major holiday and the biggest shopping season of the year for Vietnamese people. Online shopping, payment, and delivery have made things much more convenient for consumers, especially during busy periods. However, to become a smart online consumer, customers need to choose reputable sellers and carefully check products before receiving them to avoid buying low-quality items that could affect their health.
