Recently,the President signed the first round of conferring the title of People's Artist. The list of 77 artists who received the title was given to artists who had clear achievements, backgrounds and were eligible for the title of People's Artist. Many artists in the cast of 'Tao Quan' can be mentioned. However, some veteran actors have not been named. However, they still have faith because next, the President will sign the second round of conferring the title of People's Artist.

According to Dan Tri Newspaper, in this list is the "fate" of the "Tao Quan" artists.

"Social Apple" Tu Long

Among the artists of "Tao Quan", "Tao Xa Hoi" Tu Long was the first person to be awarded the title of People's Artist, at a young age (43 years old).

At that time, when Tu Long was on the list of candidates for the title of People's Artist, many people said that he was too young compared to many veteran artists who had not yet been awarded the title of People's Artist.

Facing controversial public opinion, Tu Long once spoke out: "A title is one of the noble things that any artist desires, whether they are popular or elite.

Every review period always has conflicting opinions, those who pass are fine, those who don't (public opinion, readers' opinions) react in both positive and negative ways. That's completely normal."

He also affirmed that he won many medals due to his tireless efforts when participating in many different art forms such as the National Cheo Theater Festival, National Drama, and the Army Cheo Theater.

In 2014, Tu Long was appointed Deputy Director of the Army Cheo Theater. Before that, the male artist belonged to the Cheo troupe of the General Department of Logistics of the Ministry of National Defense .

In 2011, Cong Ly was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist (NSUT). In 2019, Cong Ly was awarded the title of People's Artist and was appointed Deputy Director of the Hanoi Drama Theater in May 2020.

"Jade Emperor" Quoc Khanh

"Jade Emperor" Quoc Khanh is the third artist in the "Tao Quan" cast to be awarded the title of People's Artist in the 10th awarding round this year.

On November 21, 2022, the Vietnam Drama Theater handed over the retirement decision to Meritorious Artist Quoc Khanh. The male artist shared that retirement does not mean the end of his acting career because "I love and pursue it until I can't do it anymore".

Meritorious Artist Quoc Khanh was born in 1962 in Hanoi. He is the only son in a family of two sisters. After finishing 10th grade, he took the entrance exam for the first year of actor training at the Vietnam Drama Theater from 1978 to 1982.

In the film industry, Chi Trung also had impressive roles in works such as: The Lady and the Tycoon, Long Tri Night Festival, The Road to Thang Long Citadel...

In 1997, Chi Trung was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist. However, from 2015 until now, after three rounds of conferring the title of People's Artist, Chi Trung's name is still not on the list.

In 2015, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung failed to gain the title of People's Artist right from the Ministry Council. After the results were out, he expressed confusion about the selection criteria.

"Is it true that the criteria for selecting the People's Artist title are quite vague, complicated and unfair? Because in reality there are people who have not won any gold medals but still achieved this title," Chi Trung once shared.

In 2018, the list of artists considered for the title of People's Artist continued to be absent from Chi Trung. In response to public concerns, the Director of the Department of Emulation and Commendation, Mr. Phung Huy Can, said that at that time, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung was the acting Director of the Youth Theater, a unit under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, so the consideration for the title had to be proposed by the Theater to the Ministerial Council.

However, the competent authority did not receive artist Chi Trung's application.

Recently, according to Decision No. 724/QD-CTN signed by President Vo Van Thuong on June 22, 2023, 77 individuals were awarded the title of People's Artist. Chi Trung was absent from this list, although his name was among the 136 Meritorious Artists previously submitted to the State Council.

In a previous conversation with Dan Tri , the reporter asked Chi Trung: "Dedicating nearly 45 years to the stage and arts, but only after retirement was you proposed to be awarded the title of People's Artist, are you still "interested" in that title?"

Chi Trung replied: "Saying "salty" is a bit too much, but if you like it, everyone likes it. But if you like it but have to struggle and exceed your ability, it's not my style. Whatever comes, comes. I've been a Meritorious Artist for 30 years."

"Traffic Apple" confided that every time he reviews, he makes a profile, it's like chasing a beautiful girl for a long time but if he can't get her, the feelings will gradually fade.

"But it's all up to me. During the Meritorious Artist award, I had 5 gold medals and 7 silver medals. When I was awarded the People's Artist title, I was already old and a manager... how could I compete for roles from young actors? I even gave my roles to other contestants.

That's my choice, so what else can I ask for? If I just work hard, keep taking roles, keep performing, then 2 or 3 medals is not difficult, but I don't do that," Chi Trung said.

During the 10th round of awarding the titles of Meritorious Artist and People's Artist, many artists were on the list submitted to the State Council but were not on the list signed by the President to be awarded, including Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac.

However, according to Dan Tri reporter's private source, this is only the list of 77 artists who were awarded the title of People's Artist by the President in the first round. The title is awarded to artists who have clear achievements, background and are eligible for the title of People's Artist.

The list of artists considered for the title of People's Artist will be "extended" after the President reviews it in the second round. Therefore, artists whose names are not on the list of 77 artists awarded the title of People's Artist in June 2023 may be added in the next round.
