Authorities determined that the tanker with license plate 51D-152.. driven by driver Ly Ha Vinh Huynh (residing in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province) involved in the collision was transporting chemicals, which were ore washing solvents.
The initial cause was determined to be that driver Ly Ha Vinh Huynh was not paying attention while driving the tanker truck, leading to the accident. The ambulance was driven by driver Nguyen Ngoc Hung (residing in Lam Dong province), and there were no patients on board. The accident only left driver Ly Ha Vinh Huynh and driver Nguyen Ngoc Hung with minor injuries.
