Before the trip to Thailand to participate in the first round of SEA V-League 2025, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet finalized the list of 14 athletes for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team . Nguyen Thi Phuong is the only name eliminated from the list.

This is a surprising decision by Coach Tuan Kiet as the 26-year-old hitter has been in stable form recently, especially having just had a good performance at the Shanghai 2025 tournament (with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team winning the fourth place overall).

Eliminating Nguyen Thi Phuong, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet brought to Thailand 3 Liberos: Nguyen Khanh Dang, Luu Thi Ly Ly and Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh. Among these athletes, Khanh Dang is almost certain to be the main player.

According to the competition schedule, the first stage of SEA V-League 2025 will take place in Thailand from August 1-3, while the second stage will take place in Vietnam ( Ninh Binh ) from August 8-10. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the current runner-up of the tournament.

The teams will compete in a round robin format in each leg. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will face Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Of these, Thailand is the number 1 candidate for the championship.
