The 2025 Asian Badminton Championships will take place from April 8 to April 13 in Ningbo, China. Vietnam’s No. 1 female tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh faced difficulties in the first round. Her opponent was Akane Yamaguchi – ranked 4th in the world and one of Japan’s top tennis players. Yamaguchi was a former world No. 1, champion in 2022 and runner-up in 2018 and 2024 at the All England Open.

However, in the decisive points, the former world champion's bravery spoke up. Despite her best efforts, Thuy Linh lost the first set with a score of 18-21.
Entering set 2, Thuy Linh continued to maintain a fierce pursuit. At times, she took the lead thanks to a series of precise shots and sharp counterattacks.
