World's leading semiconductor chip supplier explores investment environment in Da Nang

At the meeting, Vice President Ho Ky Minh introduced general information about the current situation of human resources, infrastructure, as well as preferential policies in the semiconductor sector of Da Nang city that investors are interested in. Accordingly, Da Nang city has constructed and put into use Software Park No. 2, with a land area of 2.86 hectares, floor area of over 90,000 m2, meeting the needs of more than 6,000 employees.

Regarding the IT and AI business ecosystem, by the end of 2024, Da Nang will have nearly 2,400 IT enterprises, an average of 2.3 digital technology enterprises/1,000 people, 3 times higher than the national average). The city's IT and AI business ecosystem is quite diverse, including large enterprises such as: Vietel, VNPT, FPT, MobiFone , LG (R&D), MOMO... There are many potential startups related to the field of artificial intelligence such as EM&AI, Hekate, AvocaAI, AlvinAI, the AI Labs, Rainscales Vietnam...

Da Nang has 37 human resource training facilities in information technology, of which there are currently 17 universities and colleges training in information technology, 13 universities and colleges training in majors close to the field of information technology, such as Electronics - Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Statistical Informatics, Construction Informatics, etc.). Currently, universities in Da Nang city have closely cooperated with prestigious international partners to improve the quality and quantity of training according to international standards in the fields of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence.

Regarding investment incentives and attraction policies in the field of semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that in June 2024, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organization of urban government and piloting special mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city, including outstanding incentive policies for strategic investors and strategic partners in the field of semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence, effective from January 1, 2025.

In addition, Da Nang is a locality located in a strategic connection position with a complete transport infrastructure. The city government is highly appreciated in the provincial competitiveness index ranking and has led for many consecutive years in the ICT-Index, digital transformation, innovative startups and has a high commitment in supporting and accompanying the development of businesses and investors coming to Da Nang.
