Notre Dame Cathedral shines at night, HCMC residents pour into the streets before Christmas

These days, people in Ho Chi Minh City and tourists eagerly flock to Notre Dame Cathedral (District 1) to celebrate Christmas early in a space filled with brilliant lights.

Two weeks before Christmas, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Ho Chi Minh City used 500,000 meters of LED lights. Between the two bell towers is a colorful star of Bethlehem.

This is the second time Notre Dame Cathedral has been decorated for Christmas since its renovation in 2017.

These days, the scene around the most beautiful church in Ho Chi Minh City is always bustling as many locals and tourists flock to admire it.

The front of Notre Dame Cathedral is decorated with elaborate and eye-catching miniature landscape.

Amid hundreds of bright lights, the marble statue of Our Lady of Peace in front of the church stands out even more.

Many young people excitedly check-in at the place filled with the most Christmas atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Thuy Duong and her niece wore red dresses to capture the moment of celebrating an early Christmas.

For the first time, the entire church was lit up, so every corner of the surrounding streets attracted people to take photos and check in. Last year, only the two bell towers in front were lit by 80,000 meters of light strings.

"When I heard that the church was lit up beautifully, I invited a group of friends to take advantage of the weekend to take photos. It wasn't Christmas yet but there were a lot of people coming. The outside was even more beautiful than what I saw on social media," Kim Ngan (left cover) shared.

The brilliant space of Notre Dame Cathedral makes everyone want to take beautiful pictures of this place.

The major renovation of Notre Dame Cathedral began on July 1, 2017 and is still in the final stages. However, Christmas celebrations here still take place as usual. Mass will be celebrated on the 24th and 25th of December.
