Musician Y Vu is the author of many songs loved by audiences such as: "I take you across the river", "Your wedding day", "Kim", "Dien", "Han", "Nhung tam hon hoang lanh"...

His real name is Tran Gia Hoi, born in 1940 in Hanoi. He is the younger brother of the late musician Y Van. Since childhood, he was taught music by his brother. His stage name Y Vu was taken from his brother's name, Y Van.

Early acquaintance with the creative community through the connection of his brother Y Van, musician Y Vu, Manh Phat and Huynh Anh became close friends.

His first work was "I Take You Across the River", which he wrote about his first love with a female student at the same school. He had just finished writing it and showed it to his brother before publishing it. After that, he wrote "Your Wedding Day" which was a resounding success.

He was highly regarded by experts as a musician with his own style in composing and living in harmony with everyone. His passing left many people with regret for music lovers.
