Germany are unbeaten on their way to the semi-finals of the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League (League A). Coach Julian Nagelsmann and his team want more.
With the Nations League semi-finals and final both taking place on home soil, Germany are determined to conquer glory.

After failing at EURO 2024 at home, Germany does not want to let another title slip away, especially when the team that Nagelsmann built is increasingly cohesive and stable.
Nagelsmann has shown tactical flexibility in recent matches, as well as inspiring the players.
The departure of some key players such as Toni Kroos, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Ilkay Gundogan after EURO 2024 does not affect Germany much.
The current Die Mannschaft is built with young leaders Florian Wirtz or Jamal Musiala - who could not participate in the final stage of the Nations League.
The highlight of Nagelsmann's construction is the ideal squad depth. Striker Deniz Undav is an example, showing that Germany hardly depends on the role of an individual.
In midfield, Aleksandar Pavlovic emerged as a leader, alongside the rise of Leon Goretzka.
“We have the ambition to go further. The atmosphere in the dressing room is very positive – everyone wants to win,” Nagelsmann said of the ambition to win the Nations League.
Germany have consistently dominated Portugal in the past, with 11 wins and just three losses in 19 meetings. The most recent defeat came in 2000.
Portugal's form has not been really good after EURO 2024, with 2 wins in the last 5 matches.

Portugal has the central midfield duo of Joao Neves and Vitinha who just helped PSG win the Champions League . However, Roberto Martinez has never been able to exploit the value of this duo, partly because he built his playing style around Bruno Fernandes, who often "disappeared" in important matches.
In Munich, Portugal chose a pragmatic approach to defeat the hosts. Even when the match had to be decided by penalties, Germany were still superior: they had won all six of their shootouts since 1976.
The victory to book a ticket to the UEFA Nations League final was also a gift to mark the milestone of 100 international matches for captain Joshua Kimmich.
