Deeper understanding of culture from industry practice

On the morning of July 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism attended and directed the conference. The conference was held in both in-person and online formats, connecting 34 provinces and cities across the country.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh presented a summary report on the results of implementing tasks in the first 6 months of the year and key directions for the last 6 months of 2025.

Inheriting the results of 2024, the entire sector has closely followed and synchronously and effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and resolutions of regular Government meetings; focusing on the task of reviving and developing Vietnamese culture. In particular, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism successfully organized the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Streamlining - Professionalism - Development".

Regarding the general tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the whole industry clearly identifies specific tasks in the fields of culture-family, cinema, fine arts, photography, cultural industry, sports, tourism, press-media, publishing-printing-distribution...

Accordingly, the industry focuses on guiding and implementing decentralization and authority assignment in the field when organizing two-level local government; continuing to promote the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and administrative reform; reviewing and removing legal bottlenecks, building a smart tourism digital transformation program; upgrading the Ministry's administrative procedure settlement information system to connect the national population database; implementing key programs and projects that have been approved such as: National target program on cultural development for the period 2025-2035; Project "Internationalization of national cultural identity, nationalization of world cultural quintessence"; Strategy for developing Vietnam's cultural industries to 2030, vision 2045; Entertainment industry project, etc.

In particular, the whole industry focused on successfully organizing the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements with the theme "80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness", the Parade, Military Parade and cultural and artistic programs contributing to spreading traditional values, patriotism, aspirations for development and national unity, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2...

Concluding the conference, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that through practical activities, the awareness of Party committees at all levels and people about culture has become deeper and more complete in the spirit of "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge".

Culture is being put in the right place. The culture, sports and tourism sector has known how to choose the right place and the right job, and has been trusted by the Party and State to organize many major events of regional, national and international scale, contributing to affirming the country's position, promoting the image of Vietnam to the world, strengthening trust and conveying the Party's policy messages through the language of art and sports.

The Minister also pointed out that, in the context of activities taking place in a new space, the industry needs to continue to correctly identify cultural connotations, determine core and typical values; promote endogenous strength; apply science and technology and digital transformation in organizing large-scale events, avoiding bureaucracy and formalization.

Sending a message of action for the last 6 months of the year, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: "The Ministry guides, the Department accompanies for a common mission". The whole industry focuses on promoting policy communication, raising awareness, creating consensus among the people; clearly orienting communication, focusing on refuting the false arguments of hostile forces; well organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Exhibition "80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness", art, culture, and sports programs to serve the people...

The Minister also noted that localities should focus on economic development, closely follow the task of tourism development, select unique products, link destinations, focus on promoting tourism during peak season to welcome international visitors; promote cultural industry, especially performing arts; research innovation projects in the field of performing arts...
