Powerful figure of VFC film studio

VTC NewsVTC News09/09/2023

Viewers of the movie Village in the City were very impressed with the character of Manager Ngoc because according to the script, this guy is a "playboy" who abuses his power. When he cannot take advantage of the female lead, he finds every way to "bully" her at work. Even when he makes a female worker pregnant, he firmly forces her to have an abortion and shirks responsibility. Ngoc's actions make the audience very angry.

The role of manager Ngoc is played by actor Tien Ngoc. He has participated in many small roles in VFC projects such as: The Girl from Someone Else's House, Father's Gift...

In fact, Tien Ngoc is a rather "powerful" figure in VFC's film crews because he is a production organization that specializes in assisting directors in finding actors, arranging filming schedules, managing expenses... in film crews.

Before becoming a producer for VFC, Tien Ngoc was a familiar face to television audiences through the show Good Night Baby. He was the one who played the role of Clever Rabbit and interacted with the audience in each show.

Sharing about the role of manager Ngoc in the movie Lang trong pho, Tien Ngoc said: "I was the one who directly cast the actors for the movie Lang trong pho. Initially, the role of Ngoc was intended for actor Hoang Du Ka (the role of Ban Ngong).

However, after all the actors' costumes were ready, director Mai Hien suddenly wanted to change and enhance the character Ngoc to create more drama for the film. He asked me to play Ngoc because he thought I was more suitable for this role. As a result, Hoang Du Ka was assigned the role of Ban, and I played the role of manager Ngoc."

Playing the villain of the film, Tien Ngoc said he was willing to accept fighting scenes to express the script's intention:

"Ngoc is the villain so of course in the movie there will be scenes exposing and punishing Ngoc. But in reality, in the script there is no scene where Ngoc is beaten.

When filming the scene where Hieu (Duy Hung) came to find Ngoc to remind him after he played a trick on Hoai, the script only had the content of a reminder and warning. But perhaps because Duy Hung was too absorbed, he raised his hand and slapped Ngoc.

I was quite surprised because I was not mentally prepared for this scene, but I am not unfamiliar with actors being "over-the-top". So I continued acting with that momentum, this scene also created a pretty good effect on the audience.

For the scenes after Ngoc denied Danh's pregnancy and wanted to take her to have an abortion, causing Men, Hieu and Buoi to angrily come and deal with Ngoc, we discussed whether we should let this perverted manager suffer the "consequences".

Because the villain needs to receive appropriate lessons to deter bad habits and satisfy the audience's psychology. However, I proactively suggested adding a scene where Buoi throws a broom when Ngoc runs away. I think with what he has caused, just "taking" a few punches is too light, there needs to be more heavy-handed details.

Sharing about holding quite a lot of "power" in the film crew and often accepting supporting and villain roles, Tien Ngoc frankly said:

"I have been a production manager for VFC for many years, so saying "power" is just a joke. In reality, no matter what position we are in, we always want to do the best for the film. Therefore, there is no way I will use my position to "take" or ask for roles.

I myself also want to create conditions for new actors, but sometimes the director feels that I am suitable for the role and assigns me. Even the fact that I often play the villain role is not because I want to, but because of the director's perception and evaluation and because of my "fate" with the roles.

Honestly, my main job is still to organize production and support the entire film crew, so I want to spend a lot of time doing this best. That's why I can only accept small roles with little screen time if the director requests it."
