Fueling great aspirations in the digital technology business community
On September 22, in Hanoi , the announcement and honoring ceremony of 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam 2023' took place. This is the 10th year that this program is organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) to vote and honor enterprises in the Vietnamese ICT industry in each field, and at the same time introduce them to domestic and international partners and customers.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam said that we have set the goal of Vietnam becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, when Vietnam celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party; and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045, when Vietnam celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country.
“To realize high goals in the context of a volatile, uncertain, complex and unpredictable world, Vietnam must do many extraordinary things, many of which are part of the mission of the information and communications industry, especially of the Vietnamese digital technology business community,” Deputy Minister Phan Tam shared.
The representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications also pointed out three extraordinary things that the information and communications industry and digital technology enterprises in the country need to focus on, which are to ignite great aspirations; build an elite force; and have the right way to go - "go together".
Emphasizing that the way to ignite great aspirations is to tell extraordinary stories that inspire the current generation, Deputy Minister Phan Tam also pointed out a number of stories of typical digital technology enterprises at the event honoring 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam' in 2022.
Specifically, the inspiring story of Rikkeisoft's dedication in 10 years of formation and growth, from 5 founding members, after 10 years there were 1,500 employees with an annual growth rate of 180%; the story of FPT pioneering technology, investing heavily in resources to research and create pioneering technology platforms Make in Vietnam, which are the core of digital solutions, the key to solving digital transformation problems for millions of agencies, organizations and businesses; the story of the breakthrough growth startup TopCV being honored in the Forbes Under 30 list; or the story of "The big ship Viettel taking on the mission of pioneering and leading the way in creating a digital society.
VINASA Chairman Nguyen Van Khoa said that this year's program has witnessed many inspiring stories about digital transformation. That is, Viettel Solutions has built 36 IOC smart operation centers, implementing digital transformation for 32 provinces and cities. OneMount Group is digitally transforming more than 100,000 grocery stores, contributing to the rapid digital transformation of economic sectors, helping digital transformation penetrate deeply into all areas of life...
Along with that, VNPT and MobiFone are deploying digital platforms to serve the agriculture and tourism sectors with high efficiency; Rang Dong is a typical example of a manufacturing enterprise implementing digital transformation, transforming itself into a digital technology enterprise with new, high-quality technology products and many new business models; FPT has successfully researched and produced semiconductor chips and started receiving orders...
“The board members and I are very impressed by the stories of passion and thorough investment of businesses in research and development to create new, excellent technology products owned by Vietnamese people; strategies to approach and develop the market in a quite new way and especially the continuous efforts in improving capacity and developing business to reach out to the international market,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa.
13 digital technology enterprises achieved revenue of over 1,000 billion VND
With the program 'Top 10 outstanding digital technology enterprises in Vietnam 2023', according to the representative of the Organizing Committee, from 155 nominations in 25 fields of 97 enterprises, the Evaluation Council selected 104 nominees to be honored.
Specifically, at the announcement ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded Top 10 certificates to 41 enterprises in the traditional IT industry group; 24 enterprises in the priority digital transformation group; 16 enterprises in the group of enterprises with new technology capacity; 2 pioneering trade and service enterprises implementing digital technology; 2 digital startups, and 6 enterprises with impressive growth.
In particular, the title of "Vietnam's Trillion-Dollar Digital Technology Enterprise" was awarded to 13 enterprises including CMC Global, CTIN, FPT, FPT IS, FPT Software, MobiFone Digital Service Center - Branch of MobiFone Corporation, NashTech Vietnam, One Mount Group, Rang Dong, Tuong Minh Software Solutions Company, Viettel Solutions, VNPT.
VINASA representative also said that according to statistics, the total revenue in 2022 of the enterprises honored in the Top 10 this year reached 164,026 billion VND, equivalent to more than 7 billion USD, accounting for 43.75% of the total revenue of the software and IT services industry in Vietnam, with a total of 136,000 employees.
The 13 "Vietnam's trillion-dollar digital technology enterprises" alone have a revenue of 119,000 billion VND, equivalent to 5.1 billion USD, and employ 111,600 workers.
Despite the economic turmoil, digital technology businesses still achieved impressive growth. For example, in the export service market, MOR Software and Savvycom grew 2 times, and CMC Global grew 70%.
The domestic market recorded large growth figures such as One Mount increased by 80%, Viettel Cyber Security, FPT Smart Cloud increased by 100%, ITSOL increased by 90%.
Along with that, many businesses that achieved the Top 10 title are investing in research and development of new technologies such as semiconductor chips, Generative AI, Blockchain...
In 2014, VINASA began to announce the program to vote and honor outstanding IT enterprises. At that time, only 30 enterprises in 2 fields were selected. After 9 years of organization, the scale, number of enterprises, and number of fields have all increased. The program has selected and introduced more than 500 businesses to domestic agencies and units and especially to more than 100,000 partners from over 100 countries and economies around the world. |
