Many Man Utd players are fed up with Sancho

Man Utd members are not satisfied with Jadon Sancho's attitude in training, competition and the midfielder's public response to coach Erik ten Hag.

After losing 1-3 to Arsenal in round 4 of the Premier League, Ten Hag said Sancho's training was ineffective and was removed from the competition list.

Less than an hour later, on X - the social network formerly known as Twitter, the English player posted a message implying that Ten Hag was lying, claiming that he had been a "scapegoat" for a long time and that this was unfair. Sancho also emphasized that he had trained very well in the past week and that his omission from the Arsenal match stemmed from many other reasons that could not be made public.

ESPN quoted a source close to Man Utd as saying that Sancho did not receive much sympathy in the dressing room. "The players are fed up with Sancho," the source said. "His unimpressive performances in both training and on matchdays have left the midfielder unpopular with his teammates and the coaching staff."

Despite creating fierce controversy, Sancho has not deleted and even pinned the public post "responsing" to Ten Hag at the top of his X account . Meanwhile, the Dutch coach felt no need to clarify or soften his statements.

Ten Hag is expected to speak to Sancho to clarify his future before the match against Brighton on September 16. Previously, the Old Trafford club negotiated with Al Ettifaq about loaning Sancho on the final day of the summer transfer window in Saudi Arabia on September 7. Man Utd did not charge a loan fee, but wanted Al Ettifaq to pay the full salary and then buy the English midfielder for $60 million in the summer of 2024. The club, currently led by coach Steven Gerrard, rejected this proposal.

Man Utd have not commented on the incident, but according to the Guardian , Sancho will receive internal punishment after the incident. Ten Hag has emphasized discipline and has not been afraid to make tough decisions since taking office at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022. He once terminated the contract with star Cristiano Ronaldo after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan - where the Portuguese striker accused Ten Hag and Man Utd of betrayal.

This summer, the 53-year-old coach stripped Harry Maguire of the captaincy and did not renew the contract of goalkeeper David de Gea - the most senior player in the Man Utd squad. He also benched Marcus Rashford in the match against Wolves in December 2022 for being 45 seconds late to a team meeting.

According to ESPN , Man Utd players accept and respect this tough approach because Ten Hag applies it to all members of the team, whether they are stars or pillars of the team. Many Man Utd players were surprised and did not accept Sancho's reaction.
