At 6am this morning, September 24, the center of storm Ragasa (storm No. 9) was about 320km east of Leizhou Peninsula (China), many flights of Vietnamese airlines to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Guangzhou (China)... were canceled due to the storm's impact. Today, flights to and from Cat Bi airport ( Hai Phong ) were also adjusted to take off and land before 11am.
During this time, some other domestic and international flights may be affected by the storm. In the context of the storm Ragasa causing adverse weather effects, airlines advise passengers to fasten their seat belts during the flight, especially in complex weather conditions.
Actively fastening your seat belt, even when the signal light is off, is an important measure to help reduce the risk when the plane encounters air turbulence.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, with the developments of storm Ragasa, it is forecasted that airports in the area affected by the super storm include Noi Bai, Van Don, Cat Bi, Tho Xuan, Vinh, and Dong Hoi.
In order to ensure the safety of flight operations, people and property at airports, and minimize negative impacts on flight operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has issued a telegram to units in the aviation industry to proactively focus on and deploy solutions to respond to super typhoon Ragasa.
