Many effective energy saving solutions

(QBĐT) - With the strong participation of all levels, sectors, localities and the active response of customers, in the first 9 months of 2024, the whole province saved 24.52 million kWh, reaching 2.65% compared to the total amount of commercial electricity.

To achieve the above results, from the beginning of 2024 up to now, Quang Binh Electricity Company (PC Quang Binh) has actively coordinated with units, localities, and customers to deploy many effective electricity saving solutions.

PC Quang Binh Director Hoang Hieu Trung said that the company has launched the movement "Families of cadres, employees, and workers (CB, CNV, NLĐ) TKĐ" in the entire unit to "set an example" and demonstrate a pioneering role, encourage and spread the spirit of TKĐ in the community. From the above movement, the company's staff, employees, and workers always raise awareness, effectively use electrical equipment in the office, and save electricity output according to the plan compared to the assigned target; contributing to raising public awareness, spreading green and sustainable lifestyles from each individual to friends, family and the whole society.

Most recently, PC Quang Binh has launched a campaign for all employees to respond and actively participate in the online contest "Learning about energy saving and efficiency in 2024" organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade . Since the beginning of the year, PC Quang Binh has also proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and localities to organize many practical activities on energy saving and efficiency, such as: Coordinating with the Department of Industry and Trade to launch the emulation program "Energy saving households in 2024"; launching participation in the "Earth Hour" and "Energy saving in the dry season" campaigns, etc.

Since the beginning of the year, PC Quang Binh has also carried out propaganda, mobilization, and guidance for 31,038 customers (100%) to use electricity for production, business, administrative services, public lighting, etc., joining hands to implement energy efficiency and sign commitments. In addition, the company has provided user/pass information and instructions for use according to document No. 426/QBPC-KD so that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Industry and Trade can conveniently monitor online the level of electricity consumption, evaluate the implementation of energy efficiency of agencies, administrative organizations and key energy-using facilities, and provide timely direction and management for energy efficiency work. In addition, PC Quang Binh has stepped up coordination with functional units to enhance energy efficiency propaganda on news agencies and newspapers such as Quang Binh Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, etc.

As a result, in the first 9 months of 2024, savings in the household sector were 9,579,824 kWh, administrative and public services 1,222,373 kWh, public lighting 3,990,059 kWh, business and services 2,259,339 kWh and industrial production 7,473,516 kWh.

In order to effectively implement the power saving plan and ensure power supply in the dry season of 2024, PC Quang Binh has implemented specific solutions for power saving plan at administrative agencies, such as: Regularly reporting to the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Industry and Trade, and District People's Committees on power consumption data for information and urging implementation; mobilizing and guiding customers using electricity for production, business, service, administrative, and public lighting purposes to implement power saving plan and sign commitments in 2024 and 2025.

Similarly, for public lighting, PC Quang Binh proactively works with public lighting management units to urge implementation according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Document No. 682/UBND-KT on promoting the implementation of Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister ; adjusting the lighting time to turn on 30 minutes later and turn off the lights 30 minutes earlier than planned; reducing 1/3 of the lighting system capacity for normal hours and reducing 2/3 of the capacity from 10 p.m. onwards; replacing with LED lights for regular repairs and replacements, and newly constructed roads.

For large customers, PC Quang Binh sent a document urging customers to arrange production plans to reduce capacity usage during peak times, especially evening peaks. In addition, for energy efficiency at headquarters and units, PC Quang Binh proposed to apply all drastic energy efficiency measures at the workplace, each location of each unit saves at least 10% of output usage; especially during peak months (May, June, July 2024), save at least 15%...
