On July 22, at Phu Thanh block, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Phu ward launched the 500m long "Bright - green - clean - beautiful self-managed road". The road was implemented by the government and people with a total cost of 40 million VND, including nearly 100 national flags, 80 pots of bougainvillea, and rows of green areca trees for landscaping.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Phu Ward, said that this model both inherits the spirit of solidarity and self-management of local people and concretizes the resolution of the Ward Party Committee on innovating the operation methods of the Front in the new term. This is the initial project to spread many effective and practical self-management models in the coming time.
Previously, Quang Phu ward supported the construction of a solidarity house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Khoi, a near-poor woman living alone in Tinh Thuy block. From the Fund for the Poor, the ward supported 70 million VND to build a level 4 house on an area of 104 square meters, expected to be completed in 3 months.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward also implemented a series of social security activities such as giving 20 gifts (total value of 10 million VND) to families with meritorious services. The Youth Union will organize a candle-lighting ceremony at the martyrs' cemetery and give 50 gifts (worth 25 million VND) to students who are children of meritorious services families...
