In particular, the unique features of the crab festival are the activities: Crab speed racing, crab tying performance (competition time from December 24 to 26, at Thanh Nien Square, Ward 5, Ca Mau City); Crab master chef culinary competition, setting a record of 69 dishes made from Ca Mau crab; The largest Ca Mau crab competition and combining to receive the Asian record certificate "U Minh fish sauce hotpot".

In addition, the Organizing Committee also organized many forums and seminars to discuss issues such as: Solutions to extend the stay of tourists in Ca Mau; Innovation and development of local intellectual property; Solutions for sustainable development of the crab industry in Ca Mau.
Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that the Ca Mau crab festival is an opportunity for the province to promote the image and brand of Ca Mau crab and local specialties; an opportunity for domestic and foreign tourists to enjoy the nature and experience the unique flavors of Ca Mau. Besides, this is also an opportunity for businesses and investors to seek investment cooperation opportunities, tourism and culinary services business with Ca Mau.
"The meat is sweet and firm; the fat is fatty; the nutritional content is high, so Ca Mau crab is considered the best crab. With an intercropping area of over 250,000 hectares, Ca Mau is also the place with the largest output in the country; the total value of crab output is over 10,000 billion VND per year. Therefore, crab is identified as the province's key product, the position of crab is second only to shrimp. Recently, Ca Mau crab has also been granted a certificate of geographical indication protection," Mr. Su added.
According to Mr. Phan Hoang Vu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ca Mau, to best serve the Ca Mau crab festival, the province has proactively prepared a source of 260 - 300 tons of commercial crab; proactively mobilized people to increase crab harvesting to ensure that there is no shortage of supply, and at the same time implemented many solutions to stabilize crab prices on this occasion.
