Many channels support looking up new locations and addresses

Currently, many localities require people to declare their place of residence based on the VNeID electronic identification application.

However, the original data in some features of the application has not been fully updated, such as the current residence, although the new ward has been updated correctly, the old neighborhood name is still kept. The Electronic ID feature is also in a similar situation. In addition, the Place of Birth field is left blank, and some people have their old place of birth used as their Temporary Residence even though they do not have temporary residence there.

According to the Tax Department ( Ministry of Finance ), starting from July 1, citizens who have been granted personal identification numbers will use this number instead of tax codes (MST) in transactions with tax authorities. Not only individuals but also households, business households, and individual businesses will use the identification number of their representative to fulfill tax obligations instead of using MST as it is now. However, on July 9, when looking up on online tools, personal MSTs are still shown according to the old MST.

To overcome this situation, more and more online services and applications are actively participating in supporting government agencies and people to easily look up old and new place names and addresses (after the merger). Many applications have used artificial intelligence (AI) to help make the lookup faster and more accurate.

Ho Chi Minh City Television - HTV, at the end of June, built a website to quickly look up information on 168 wards, communes, and special zones of Ho Chi Minh City. Just enter the name of the province, district, and ward to find the new location. Vietnam Post has also developed an automatic conversion tool between old and new addresses (https://diachi.vnpost.vn), allowing users to use both old and new addresses. The tool has been integrated directly into the My Vietnam Post application.

The corporation said it has conducted a nationwide system test and trained 100% of employees and postmen at service points to master the address processing process according to the new list. Viettel Group launched a web-based AI assistant, helping to look up all information about new administrative units for all people, at the website https://tracuuphuongxa.trolyao.org/. Users enter questions about new or old addresses and places into the Virtual Assistant to look up new administrative units, and AI will give the results. Notably, the application also provides detailed information about this address change and includes a link to view the map.

Of course, people need to be careful in choosing reputable and legitimate service providers and applications to ensure the accuracy and safety of personal information. Authorities also need to pay attention to checking to be able to promptly handle subjects who take advantage of collecting user information or causing trouble.
