The "Action for the Community" Award is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper, with the support of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology , and the coordination of VCCorp Joint Stock Company. This is an annual national award to honor and promote community projects, and to recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals who are making efforts to contribute to society.

Throughout the day, project representatives will present and conduct a 10-minute Q&A session with the Jury. Based on this, the Jury will evaluate and decide on the winning entries for each category and select the best project to receive the first Human Act Prize of the year.
35 projects participated in 6 categories, including: Sustainable projects (11); timely projects (2); promising projects (5); inspirational projects (6); enduring projects (7) and breakthrough community initiative projects (3).
MANY PROJECTS TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

A representative of the Smart Rice Cultivation Program to Adapt to Climate Change in the Mekong Delta said that the program has been implemented since 2016. To date, the project has implemented 496 models in 13 provinces and cities with many impressive results. The average rice yield of the models increased by 400-500kg/ha, the average production cost decreased by 1-1.5 million VND/ha, thereby increasing the average profit to 4-5 million VND/ha. In addition, the project has also provided farming techniques to thousands of farmers.
"The smart rice farming process has been recognized as a technical advance, this is the scientific basis for continuing to replicate the process in rice production in the provinces of the Mekong Delta and other localities across the country," informed a project representative.

Presenting the project Changing the nature of Vietnam's dairy industry on the basis of sustainable development, for community health , a representative from TH Group said: After nearly 15 years of establishment, the application of high technology and the circular economic model in large-scale agriculture, leading to changes in the nature of the dairy industry (in terms of production methods, breed issues, solving the problem of herd size, productivity, overcoming nature when raising temperate dairy cows in a tropical country, etc.), has contributed to laying the foundation for the clean fresh milk industry in Vietnam and sustainable development.
TH has been making efforts to reduce emissions throughout the production chain with many solutions and systematic investments towards environmental protection, creating breakthroughs in productivity and product quality.

An outstanding contribution of TH to the community is its pioneering recommendations on standards and regulations in the livestock and dairy production industry (including school milk) to make the Vietnamese milk market transparent.
"That is also the way TH carries out its social responsibility to make the market transparent, in the direction that products must have standards and clear information for consumers to choose. When businesses comply, they will bring Vietnam's agriculture and production to international integration," a representative of TH Group affirmed.
With the High-tech Dairy Farm Cluster project, actions to reduce CO2 emissions, practice green economy, circular economy , TH true MILK representative said, like all activities of TH Group, the farm cluster complies with the Sustainable Development Policy built on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
TH farm cluster has effective methods for the environment such as: Installing solar power on the roofs of TH farms and factories to provide clean energy; building a factory to process clean biofertilizers meeting international standards from TH dairy farm waste; treating wastewater, returning water to nature to meet QCVN 62/BTNMT standards, successfully implementing a circular economy model, in which by-products and waste from one process become input materials for another process.

PROMOTE TIMELY AND PROSPEROUS PROJECTS
Seven projects in the two categories of Timely and Promising Projects also attracted the attention of the Jury.
The representative of the Social Charity Platform project (Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank) shared that MBBank, with its available technological capabilities and dedication to serving society, launched the first Make in Vietnam charity platform in September 2021.
After nearly 2 years, the Charity App has attracted more than 1 million members, 3,050 fundraising campaigns, and 819,134 donation transactions. With this app, anyone can choose the campaign they believe in and support.
In the Prospects category, one of the projects that made a strong impression was Raising Children in Moc Chau - Extending the future for poor children in mountainous areas.

The project is an ecosystem of 10 complementary projects, focusing on highland preschool students, thereby helping them develop not only physically, mentally, and academically, but also helping them preserve and maintain the Vietnamese national identity, contributing positively to the Prime Minister's "Overall project on physical development and stature of Vietnamese people in the period 2011-2030".
The project aims at a society where highland children have access to education, laying the foundation for comprehensive human development, comprehensively developing children physically, emotionally, intellectually, aesthetically and forming the first elements of personality, preparing highland children with a solid foundation for the future.

INSPIRE, CONNECT LOVE FROM KIND THINGS
In the Inspiration category, 6 participating projects include LOAN Fund; Momo Piggy Bank; Heart for Children (Viettel Telecommunications Corporation); Raising Children Project; BIDV Run - an effective creative method of mobilizing social security activities and Salt Cancer Initiative .
Presenting to the Jury, Ms. Isabelle Muller, founder of the LOAN Foundation, said: The Foundation was established on May 9, 2016, with the main goal of supporting ethnic minority children in the most remote and poorest areas in Vietnam (places where few or no charitable organizations or individuals have set foot).
The Fund aims to help children access education, create good learning and living conditions for them and thereby give them a better life in the future.

Over the past 7 years, the LOAN Fund has effectively implemented 39 projects in 8 provinces of Vietnam: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Son La, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Ha Tinh. With a total investment of more than 1.5 million USD.
Another project that has also attracted attention is the Raising Children Ecosystem initiated by Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung, one of the 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces of 2019, with more than 10 projects with sustainable models contributing to improving lunch, physical health, as well as motivating parents to send more than 95,000 highland students to school. At the same time, the project also supports the education sector and difficult mountainous areas when teachers have less trouble motivating children to go to school.

The project representative shared outstanding projects such as: Strength 2000: Building over 450 educational facilities, Computer room for children, donating more than 15 computer rooms in just 6 months of implementation, Studying - Sponsoring old laptops for ethnic minority students with more than 120 laptops donated in just 11 months and many other projects... In particular, currently, the current scope of the Nuoi Em ecosystem is present in 4 countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Kenya.
A PERMANENT JOURNEY TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY
Next, 7 projects in the Sustainability category showed their relentless journey to create sustainable and community-oriented values.
Presenting at the Final Round, the representative of the Community Disaster Prevention Fund informed: From 2008 to 2023, the Fund has implemented the motto "Connecting the power of the community to prevent natural disasters", acting as a bridge connecting the golden hearts with people in difficult areas, areas damaged or threatened by natural disasters, accompanying and sharing to help people have a safer and better life.

The programs and projects implemented by the Fund have received active support and contributions from local authorities and people through counterpart capital contributions, amounting to hundreds of billions of VND.
Over 15 years of operation, the Fund has contributed to supporting many localities, especially those areas that are often heavily affected by natural disasters and climate change, improving prevention capacity and minimizing damage caused by natural disasters. The programs and projects of the Prevention Fund have promptly met the urgent needs of localities and establishments, brought about practical results, were welcomed by people and authorities at all levels and left many good feelings in the hearts of the people.
After listening to the presentation on the Community Disaster Prevention and Control Fund project, singer My Tam said she was extremely impressed and decided to directly support the Fund with 300 million VND. The singer said that she herself had been to many disaster areas so she understood the meaning of the Fund very well; at the same time, she hoped that the Fund would become more and more known.

Another truly enduring project is the Mine Action Project in Vietnam, implemented by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA). After more than 15 years of operation in Vietnam, the project has been focusing its activities in the provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue and Kontum.
In 2022 alone, NPA teams identified over 130 square kilometers of land contaminated with explosives, and discovered and safely destroyed over 13,700 explosives, representing 28% of the total NPA explosives found globally. These activities directly benefited 27,000 people, including 7,400 women, 5,800 girls, 7,900 men, and 5,900 boys.
Hearing about the project, journalist Huu Viet, a member of the Jury, expressed his admiration for the image of the NPA's "bomb-disposal" girls. In response to this question, the project representative said: Many people still assume that mine clearance is an activity reserved for men. "Through practical activities, we have proven that women can also do and do very well in mine clearance; thereby contributing to enhancing the role of women in general," said the project representative.
Group of 7 projects in the category of Persistence includes: Turn off the lights, turn on the ideas (BOO Trading Joint Stock Company); Connecting love with Sen Vang (Vietnam Airlines); Connecting the power of the community to prevent natural disasters (Community Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention); Hope Foundation; Vinamilk's Rising Milk Fund project; Action on bombs and mines to overcome the consequences of war in Vietnam (Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) Vietnam); Journey from the heart - Journey of great ambition (Trung Nguyen Legend Group)
In the category of Breakthrough Initiatives for the Community, 3 projects reached the Final round including: Support for Cancer Patients; FAS Angel and Free Screening Project for Adverse Reactions of Carbamazepine for Children in Difficult Situations Being Treated or at High Risk of Epilepsy .
FAS Angel project representative informed: FAS stands for First Aid Support, Angel is an angel - a guardian angel who always appears quickly to help victims when they are in trouble. Starting with only 5 members, after a few months of operation, the Team quickly spread its noble values to the community and received positive feedback. Up to now, the Team has had over 150 members operating in Hanoi and many other localities across the country.
During the process of formation and development for more than 4 years, FAS Angel has always determined its responsibility, putting the motto "Never abandon victims" first. This is also what FAS Angel wants to spread to the community so that every day, if there is an unfortunate risk, everyone can roll up their sleeves to help each other.
The team set itself “5 no’s” in its operations: No abandonment, No charging, No discrimination, No arguments and No judgment. These are the passionate principles that the team members have agreed on and followed together. Up to now, thousands of people have received emergency support from FAS Angel.

During the presentation, Mr. Pham Quoc Viet, representative of FAS Angel, also shared his personal and "teammate" experiences about painful memories related to the mini apartment fire in Khuong Ha, where the group directly participated in rescue and relief efforts.
"We are not heroes, but just ordinary people who want to help others. We just hope that no similar incidents will happen again," said Mr. Viet.
After listening, singer My Tam expressed her personal emotions. The members of the Jury immediately decided to support the FAS Angel Operation Fund with 200 million VND.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Final Round, comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed: One of the goals of the Human Act Prize that is different from other awards is that after awarding the prize, it is possible to connect some projects with philanthropists who are interested in social issues but do not have the conditions to participate.
