Among them, the rather rare accident case was the fishing boat BD 97417 TS, captained by Mr. Le Van H. (in Tam Quan Nam ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province), fishing for ocean tuna.
At 3:00 a.m. on May 5, the fishing boat with 4 crew members was operating in the sea area about 360 nautical miles off the coast of Tam Quan Bac ward (Hoai Nhon town) when it was suddenly hit by a large marlin, causing the boat to break water. Currently, the crew members have proactively temporarily fixed the problem and are moving the boat back to near Tam Quan port.
In another development, at 10:30 a.m. on May 6, the Border Guard force of Binh Dinh province received an urgent message from fishing boat QNg 98083 TS, with fisherman Pham Van Tr. (born in 1979, in Quang Ngai province) having his right arm severed by a stone crusher at 7:50 a.m. the same day (May 6). Fisherman Tr. had an accident while the boat was operating in the sea about 85 nautical miles northeast of Quy Nhon city.

Upon receiving the news, the border guard ship BP48.19.01 of the Border Guard Squadron 48 (under the Border Guard Command of Binh Dinh Province) set sail to assist the fishermen in distress on the QNg 98083 TS ship. At 1:30 p.m. the same day, the border guard ship approached, provided first aid and brought the fishermen back to shore for emergency treatment.
In addition, the fishing boat DNa 90679 TS ( Da Nang ) also had engine failure and drifted on May 2. Currently, this fishing boat has been rescued by a fishing boat of fishermen from Quang Ngai province with registration number QNg 98587 TS, supporting the towing to safely return to Quy Nhon port.
