Many interesting changes in the list of Vietnam women's volleyball team

Closing three domestic tournaments, namely Hoa Lu Cup, Phase 1 of the National Championship and Hung Vuong Cup, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation announced the list of players called up to the Vietnam women's volleyball team.

The team consists of 20 athletes , including:

Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Thi Tra My (VTV Binh Dien Long An); Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy (LP Bank Ninh Binh); Vi Thi Yen Nhi, Bui Thi Anh Thao (Hanoi); Tran Thi Bich Thuy (Duc Giang Chemicals); Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Pham Thi Hien, Nguyen Thi Phuong, Luu Thi Ly Ly (Information Command ); Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh (Vietinbank); Dang Thi Hong (Thai Nguyen); Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (Quang Ninh); Nguyen Thi Uyen (Geleximco Thai Binh).

Along with that are 4 members of the coaching staff: Head Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet (Vietinbank), 3 assistant coaches Nguyen Trong Linh (Information Command ), Le Thi Hien (Quang Ninh), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa (VTV Binh Dien Long An).

This is considered a quality list, reflecting the athletes ' performance after the last 3 domestic tournaments.

The Information Command continues to be the club that contributes the most members to the national team, in which the appearance of Nguyen Thi Phuong is highly appreciated by experts. The 1999-born player performed very well under coach Pham Van Long. She is also the main scorer helping the army team reach the finals of the Hoa Lu Cup and the Hung Vuong Cup.

Along with that, Nguyen Thi Phuong's teammate, libero Luu Thi Ly Ly is the most interesting surprise in the list of the national team this time. Ly Ly used to play for the U19 and U23 Vietnam teams, but at the national team level she could not compete with the libero pair Kim Lien and Thanh Lien.

In addition to the above duo of the Information Command, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet decided to recall two names Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Nguyen Thi Uyen. These are two athletes who were called up to the national team in 2023. While Bich Thuy accompanied the team's series of successes, Nguyen Thi Uyen unfortunately suffered an injury and missed the opportunity to join the national team.

Bich Thuy has shown good form in Korea, while Nguyen Thi Uyen continues to prove herself as a top defensive player and passer at the moment.

Along with the team of athletes who have affirmed their names, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet also created conditions for young athletes with great potential such as: Anh Thao, Yen Nhi, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh or Dang Thi Hong to be selected for the national team.

This is an opportunity for young athletes to gain more experience, in which the names Anh Thao and Dang Thi Hong promise to be the key athletes of the Vietnam U21 team participating in the U21 World Championship taking place in August in Indonesia.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will gather from April 15 to August 30 at the National Sports Training Center (Nhon).

The team will prepare for the Volleyball Nation Cup (June in Dong Anh, Hanoi), FIVB World Championship (August in Thailand), SEA V.League (taking place in Ninh Binh and Thailand), SEA Games 33 (December in Thailand).
