The 9th Hanoi Book Fair is directed by the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ministry of Information and Communications; organized by the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi, and the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution.

With the theme "Hanoi: Capital of culture and heroes - City for peace ", the 9th Hanoi Book Fair takes place for 3 days, from September 27 to 29. The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 27, at the flower garden of Ba Kieu Temple.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored by the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as the "City for Peace", arousing pride in the glorious revolutionary struggle tradition of the Party Committee, armed forces and people of the Capital Hanoi, the thousand-year-old tradition of culture and heroism of Thang Long - Hanoi.
The book fair also aims to continue to effectively promote activities to develop reading culture, build and encourage reading habits and develop the reading movement in the community, towards building a learning society, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
It is expected that there will be about 200-250 standard booths of publishers and book companies in the city and the whole country; some foreign publishers with representative offices and publishing partners in Vietnam; some foreign diplomatic agencies in Hanoi; representatives of some organizations, associations and publishing associations in the region and the world participating.
