Regarding the fact that major shareholders and related shareholders of Novaland continuously sold a large number of shares, on June 2, Novaland Group (NVL) announced the results of stock transactions of Diamond Properties and Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Suong (wife of Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Novaland).
Accordingly, on May 30, 2025, Diamond Properties successfully sold 3,230,517 NVL shares with the purpose of balancing the investment portfolio and supporting debt restructuring.
The transaction was conducted by order matching method, calculated at face value, this organization earned more than 32 billion VND.
After this transaction, Diamond Properties reduced its ownership ratio to 165,430,470 shares, accounting for 8.483%.
At the same time, on May 30, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Suong also successfully sold 221,133 NVL shares for personal reasons by order matching method, calculated at par value, Ms. Suong earned more than 2 billion VND. After this transaction, Ms. Suong reduced her ownership ratio to 50,529,576 shares, accounting for 2.591%.
Previously, on May 19, Mr. Bui Cao Nhat Quan (Mr. Nhon's son) also successfully sold 2,923,893 NVL shares. After this transaction, Mr. Quan currently holds 75,318,115 shares, equivalent to 3.862% ownership.
In the list of registered sellers of nearly 19 million NVL shares by 5 major shareholders and related shareholders in early May 2025 (transaction period from May 16 to June 13, 2025), there are currently only two shareholders who have not completed the transaction: NovaGroup (Novaland's largest shareholder) and Ms. Bui Cao Ngoc Quynh (Mr. Nhon's daughter).
If the sale transaction between NovaGroup and Ms. Quynh is completed, the total ownership ratio of the group of major shareholders and related shareholders according to the published information will decrease to 32.472%.
Novaland says "no escape"
In the face of the divestment wave of major shareholders, Novaland said that the sale of shares by two major shareholders, NovaGroup and Diamond Properties, demonstrates the spirit of commitment to provide financial support to Novaland when necessary, to help Novaland pay debts when due and help Novaland maintain continuous operations.
Responding to the massive selling of shares by major shareholders, including family members of Novaland's chairman, Novaland's board of directors affirmed that "there was no exodus".
Novaland said the above moves are mainly supporting the restructuring of the company's debts, in the context that Novaland is making efforts to complete the restructuring, resolve debts and realize the rights of related parties.
On the stock market, NVL shares closed the afternoon session on June 2 at 12,550 VND/share.
