After two sessions of decline, the VN-Index unexpectedly surged on August 26. Closing, the VN-Index increased by 53.6 points, equivalent to an increase of 3.32% to 1,667.63 points. The strong increase of the market was quite surprising and mainly occurred in the afternoon session when cash flow rushed to buy many blue-chip stocks in the finance, securities and Vingroup groups. In the VN30 basket, 4 stocks that ended the session purple and hit the ceiling were VHM of Vinhomes, MWG of Mobile World, SSI of SSI Securities Company,SHB of Saigon - Hanoi Bank.

In addition to the 4 stocks that increased by the above mentioned amplitude, VIC shares of Vingroup Corporation increased by 3.44% to 135,500 VND and VRE shares of Vincom Retail Joint Stock Company increased by 4.33% to 31,300 VND along with a series of banking codes such as TCB,VIB , STB, SSB, MBB... all increased, pushing the VN30 index to increase more strongly than the general VN-Index. The group of Vingroup stocks increased, bringing the assets of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup Corporation - to 13.7 billion USD according to Forbes statistics. Mr. Vuong's assets increased by nearly 300 million USD after just one stock trading session. This is also the first time a Vietnamese billionaire recorded a net asset exceeding the 13 billion USD mark.
Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong also entered the list of 200 USD billionaires in the world for the first time, ranking at position 195. In total, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets have increased by more than 7 billion USD since the magazine announced the list of USD billionaires in the world in 2025 in early April. In fact, VIC shares increased sharply after Vingroup was recently honored as the private enterprise with the largest contribution to the State budget, with a total amount of more than 56,200 billion VND and many new projects that the company is about to implement.
At the same time, real estate stocks also traded actively with some codes hitting the ceiling following VHM such as DIG, LDG, SID and many other stocks rising high such as SZC, QCG, PDR, NVL, NLG, NBB, KBC...
The cash flow in the afternoon from many blue-chip stocks spread strongly to other sectors, making investors no longer as cautious as in the morning. However, liquidity on HOSE was only over VND39,343 billion traded, a slight decrease compared to yesterday. In total, the entire market had a trading value of over VND42,640 billion, also a slight decrease compared to yesterday's session.
