Bustling spring picking in coastal commune

On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, Giang Hai commune, Phu Loc district (Thua Thien Hue province) had a light drizzle. Spring rain made the atmosphere chilly. In addition to visiting relatives and grandparents, people also went to the spring flower picking spots to pick the first spring flowers of the year.

The spring flower picking spot in Nam Truong village (Giang Hai commune) is located right next to the national highway. This flower picking spot has a vertical tree branch, on top of which are tied many pretty pieces of paper. After buying tickets, people go to the spring flower tree to pick the pieces of paper tied on the tree. Inside the paper will be written the winning gifts, or New Year wishes for spring flower pickers.

From 7:30 am on the first day of Tet, people flocked here to pick spring flowers. The pickers included adults, young people, and children. They happily reached out to pick the papers tied to the trees, excitedly opening the papers to see the rewards they would receive.
