According to Oriental medicine, bee pupae have a slightly sweet, cold taste, are non-toxic, and have the effect of sterilizing, preventing damage to internal organs, nourishing qi, preventing aging, making the complexion fresh and smooth. Bee pupae are clearly effective in treating impotence, premature aging, dry hair, premature gray hair, nourishing the kidneys, strengthening yang, enhancing vitality and fertility, and supporting the treatment of impotence in men.

Bee pupae also have special effects on people with nervous breakdown, insomnia, forgetfulness and infertility in women. Bee pupae are very good for thin people, children with anorexia, rickets, and slow physical development.

To prepare bee pupae, the beehive is sorted after cleaning, first picking out the brown young bees and washing them separately, then the plump, round white young bees (commonly called pupae). After sorting, the bees are rinsed with cold water and drained. Bee pupae and young bees can be stir-fried together or separated and processed into many different dishes such as stir-fried with lemon leaves, cooked with lemon, fried crispy... but the most unique and impressive is still the dish of bee pupae cooked with sour bamboo shoots.

When the bee pupae turn slightly yellow, remove from heat and pour onto a plate. Then add the prepared pickled bamboo shoots and stir-fry until cooked. When the bamboo shoots are cooked, add the previously roasted bee pupae to the pan and stir-fry together. The preparation of the stir-fried bee pupae and pickled bamboo shoots dish is very simple, no need to prepare many ingredients, just add a little bit of chili and season to taste and the dish is complete.
