Consumer demand and shopping increase significantly during the National Day holiday.

(Dong Nai) - During the National Day holiday on September 2nd, the number of visitors to shopping malls and supermarkets in Dong Nai increased significantly compared to normal weekends and by about 6-10% compared to the same period in 2024.

On this occasion, the Co.opmart supermarket system in Dong Nai, including Co.opmart Bien Hoa, Co.opmart Dong Xoai, and Co.opmart Dong Phu, is launching a consumer stimulus program called "Proud of Vietnamese Supermarkets." This program focuses on offering discounts of up to 50% on high-quality Vietnamese products across five categories: household goods, cosmetics, clothing, processed foods, and fresh produce, to attract consumers.

According to Do Doan Thanh, Head of Marketing at Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket (Binh Phuoc Ward): During the recent four-day holiday, the number of shoppers at the supermarket increased by about 40% compared to a normal weekend and by 6% compared to the same period last year. On average, the supermarket welcomed about 3,000-3,200 customers each holiday day.

According to Le Duc Thuan, Director of Lotte Mart Dong Nai (Long Binh Ward): During the September 2nd holiday, the store implemented many promotional programs and major sales campaigns for Vietnamese goods with a wide variety of products. The number of customers increased by about 70% compared to a normal weekend and by about 50% compared to the same period last year. On average, the supermarket welcomed about 5,000 customers each day during the holiday.

Similarly, Le Van Hong, Director of Go! Supermarket in Dong Nai (in Long Hung ward), shared: This year, the National Day holiday is quite long and falls on a weekend, so people's shopping needs have increased significantly. The number of customers coming to the supermarket to shop has doubled compared to a normal weekend and increased by about 10% compared to the same period last year.

Besides retail activities, many commercial and consumer service sectors also recorded a large number of tourists visiting for sightseeing, entertainment, and recreation. Particularly during this year's September 2nd holiday, the banking sector in Dong Nai province proactively provided excellent banking services during the holiday and coordinated with the State Treasury to promptly meet the cash needs of local authorities, especially in mountainous, rural, and remote areas of the province, in order to distribute the Government 's Independence Day gifts to the people.

According to Agribank's Dong Nai branch, during the recent holiday period, its branches arranged for staff to work throughout the holiday to proactively coordinate and be ready to support communes and wards in guiding people to open bank accounts and install VNeID, as well as providing sufficient cash in appropriate denominations to the State Treasury to ensure timely delivery of gifts for Independence Day on National Day, September 2nd.
