Man City is the strongest, Erling Haaland is the best, and Chelsea is the most disappointing in the 2022-2023 Premier League season, according to Readers magazine.
Newcastle have improved the most because few people thought they could qualify for the Champions League. The credit for their journey goes to coach Eddie Howe, who took the club into the Top 4 without the Saudi Arabian owners breaking the bank to buy players. The young English coach has shaped a solid defensive style for his team, with only 33 goals conceded - the best figure in the league, similar to champions Man City.

Newcastle also came close to their first major trophy since 1955, before losing 0-2 to Man Utd in the English League Cup final at the end of February. From a position in the relegation group for the 2021-2022 season, Newcastle transformed to take the Champions League spot from Liverpool.

Man City are even proving that they are the strongest team in Europe, as they are still aiming for the "treble". They will meet Man Utd in the FA Cup final at Wembley on June 3, then a week later play Inter in the Champions League final in Istanbul, Turkey.

Man City winning the title for the third time in a row is not as surprising as Chelsea finishing in the bottom half of the table. Billionaire Todd Boehly's team is the most disappointing , having spent nearly $700 million on players in the last two transfer windows, but only finished 12th overall.

Chelsea have had to change managers three times this season, and only relegated Leeds United have been hit by a similar fate. From Thomas Tuchel to Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor and Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s form has been on the decline. They finished the season with just 38 goals, just two more than Haaland.
Had Guardiola not kept Haaland out of the Premier League for so many games, the Norwegian could have overtaken Chelsea's goalscoring record.
