Participating in the parade at the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Southern female guerilla bloc had 92 soldiers. Most of the members of the bloc were in their twenties, selected from 22 districts, towns and cities in Ho Chi Minh City. The Southern girls in the traditional Vietnamese traditional dress and checkered scarf portrayed the image of the “brave Miss Ba” in the anti-American resistance war of the past.
Many girls in their late teens and early twenties volunteered to put their studies on hold to take on this “once in a lifetime” mission.
Pham Bui Tram Anh, currently a third-year student at Van Hien University, has decided to put her studies on hold to register for the Southern female guerilla team to participate in the parade celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Pham Bui Tram Anh shared: “Participating in a parade and marching in an important event of the country is our pride. We feel a lot of pressure, but during the training process, the training staff always cares for me, guides me enthusiastically and meticulously, helping me to improve and be confident in every movement!”
Sharing with reporters, most members of the Southern female guerilla bloc participating in the training expressed pride in being part of the force participating in the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Female soldier Phan Le Quynh Nhu said: "After going to Dien Bien since April 24, although there was a change in the weather, we gradually adapted immediately and always upheld our sense of responsibility to excellently complete this mission."
Following the training of female guerrillas from the very beginning, Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Hai, a lecturer at the Army Officer School 2, in charge of training the female guerrillas in the South, said: "After nearly 4 months of hard training, the female guerrillas have completed the content and achieved the training targets set out."
Up to now, 100% of the officers and soldiers of the Southern female guerilla bloc have been highly focused, successfully completing training and joint training in Dien Bien Phu city, ready to contribute to the success of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7.
