Participating in the parade and march at the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Southern female guerrilla contingent consisted of 92 fighters. Most members were in their twenties, selected from 22 districts and cities in Ho Chi Minh City. These Southern girls, dressed in traditional "ba ba" attire and checkered scarves, portrayed the image of the "brave Ba" women from the resistance against the US in the past.

Despite the harsh weather conditions, the female guerrillas from the South remained cheerful and enthusiastic.

Many young women, just eighteen or twenty years old, have volunteered to put their studies on hold to undertake this "once-in-a-lifetime" task.

Pham Bui Tram Anh, currently a third-year student at Van Hien University, has decided to defer her studies to register for the Southern Women's Guerrilla Team to participate in the parade and march commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Pham Bui Tram Anh shared: “Participating in the parade and march during a major national event is a source of pride for us. We felt considerable pressure, but during training, we always received attentive and meticulous guidance from the instructors, which helped me improve and become more confident in every movement!”

Southern female guerrillas enthusiastically trained under the hot, humid weather.

Speaking to reporters, most of the female guerrilla fighters from Southern Vietnam who participated in the training expressed their pride in being part of the force that marched and paraded to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Female soldier Phan Le Quynh Nhu said: "After arriving in Dien Bien on April 24th, despite the change in weather, we quickly adapted and always upheld a high sense of responsibility to successfully complete this mission."

Having closely followed the training process of the female guerrillas from the beginning, Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Hai, lecturer at the Army Officer School 2, in charge of training the female guerrilla group in the South, said: "After nearly 4 months of arduous training, the female guerrillas have completed the content and achieved the training targets set."

People in Dien Bien eagerly came to watch, cheer, and take souvenir photos with the female guerrillas from the South.

To date, 100% of the female guerrilla fighters from Southern Vietnam have focused intensely and successfully completed all training and joint exercises in Dien Bien Phu city, ready to contribute to the success of the 70th anniversary celebration of the Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7th.
