An Giang: Offering incense to commemorate National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc

On the morning of October 18, the People's Committee of An Giang province held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 157th anniversary of the sacrifice of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc (1868 - 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thanh Nhan; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung along with representatives of intellectuals, religious and ethnic dignitaries and a large number of people in the area.

Reading a speech at the ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc (real name Nguyen Van Lich, born in 1839, in Binh Nhut village, Tan An district, Long An , now Tay Ninh province) was a son of the rivers of the South, who devoted his whole life to the country.

His life was short but brilliant in the sky of the Fatherland, eternal with the nation and time. His name, along with other national heroes, created a generation of heroes that opened the period of anti-colonialism with the spirit of self-reliance and national will.

After the speeches, the delegates respectfully offered incense to the Nguyen Trung Truc Monument, expressing their determination to build their homeland An Giang to become more and more prosperous, worthy of the sacrifice and indomitable spirit of the National Hero - an outstanding son of the South.
