Accordingly, up to 99% of Vietnamese tourists want to make more sustainable travel choices when traveling ; 83% of them have proactively changed their travel habits to realize this goal. The above figures show that sustainable tourism is no longer a trend, but has become a priority for the majority of tourists. As awareness of the impact of tourism on the environment increases, many destinations in Vietnam are making efforts to provide memorable experiences while ensuring responsibility to the environment and local communities.

Chau Doc emerges as a sustainable tourist destination.

The study was commissioned by Booking.com and conducted independently with a sample of 32,000 respondents from 34 countries and territories. To be eligible for the survey, respondents had to be 18 years or older, have traveled at least once in the past 12 months, plan to travel in 2025, and be the primary decision maker or have a role in making travel-related decisions.

In order to contribute to spreading the spirit of responsible tourism, Booking.com introduces a number of destinations in Vietnam with many accommodation establishments certified for sustainable development by independent organizations, including: Chau Doc (An Giang), Ha Tinh, Phu Ly (Ha Nam), Song Cau (Phu Yen), Tam Ky (Quang Nam).

Huong Tich Pagoda (Ha Tinh).

In particular, if Chau Doc has a harmonious life along the Hau River, with rustic stilt houses, colorful floating markets and a long-standing spiritual life associated with sacred sites such as Sam Mountain or Ba Chua Xu Temple, Ha Tinh is gradually becoming a model of sustainable tourism thanks to its natural beauty and traditional values, as well as initiatives to restore rural areas, develop community tourism models and focus on nature conservation.

If Phu Ly is a bustling urban area but still retains the charm of the long-standing historical values typical of the Northern Delta, Song Cau is a peaceful coastal town in the Central region where sustainability has become a way of life shaped by many generations of local communities; while Tam Ky possesses charm with vast reed fields, bright pink lotus ponds and the image of traditional fishermen casting nets, painting a poetic picture of daily life here.
