Many tourists know the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence, impressive with houses and shops built right on the bridge in 1300. But in China there is a similar place, even more special.
The hottest destination recently is a 400m long bridge with traditional Chinese and Western style buildings in Linshi Town, Chongqing. The unique combination creates a different experience for visitors.
The reason behind the existence of this strange destination is purely economic and touristic. The local government wanted to create something unique to attract a lot of tourists.
In fact, it is a tourist area, consisting of many Western-style buildings mixed with traditional Chinese-style buildings.
Decorated with quirky elements like a floating school bus, puppets and a miniature statue of Rio's Christ the Redeemer... this bridge village is proving extremely popular.
The bright colors of the buildings contrast with the gray, gloomy skies of most days of the year in this part of China, turning the wilderness into a hot tourist spot.
The architects made excellent use of space and harmoniously combined traditional Eastern and Western style buildings. Colorful houses on a towering bridge, surrounded by picturesque scenery, the town stands out among majestic mountains.
