Ha Tinh is an agricultural province with the majority of its population living in rural areas, including nearly 224,000 members participating in the farmers' association. Along with preferential policies of the State and movements launched by associations at all levels, Ha Tinh farmers' association members are given favorable conditions to invest in expanding production, applying modern technology to improve the quality and value of agricultural products. Since then, many farmers have built systematic production facilities, formed enterprises... They have become the core force gradually forming a private economy in rural areas.

As in the mountainous commune of Son Giang, on the hills or terraced fields, many farmers have been and are transforming strongly, becoming "rural entrepreneurs", mastering large-scale production models, creating jobs for local workers. The story of Ms. Chu Thi Hong Ha (born in 1972) - a genuine farmer and also an excellent member of Ha Tinh is outstanding.
Starting with a few deer just to earn extra income and reduce hunger, after more than 30 years, her family has built a deer farm with hundreds of deer. Up to now, she and her husband have established Thuan Ha Deer Antler Private Enterprise, specializing in trading deer products. The enterprise currently has 3 products that have achieved 3-star OCOP certification at the provincial level, including: powdered dried deer antlers, sliced deer antlers and deer antlers wine.
“I used to think that farmers only needed to know how to plow and hoe, but through the process of learning and awareness, we have completely changed. If we know how to make efforts and determination, dare to think, dare to do, and know how to learn, farmers can completely become good businessmen. Currently, our business has a revenue of about 30 billion VND/year, after deducting expenses, the profit is from 2 to 3 billion VND” – Ms. Ha shared.

In Lien Tan village - Loc Ha commune, from a small-scale production, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga (born in 1977) has expanded her seafood processing and trading facility with a revenue of about 2 billion VND/year.
Ms. Nga shared: “Our facility develops the traditional craft of Thach Kim fishing village. Under the influence of the market mechanism, agricultural households like us have made many innovations, no longer simply “self-sufficient production” but increasingly actively participating in the market as a small business. The family’s fish sauce product alone has now been recognized as meeting the 3-star OCOP standard. Most of the products are exported to markets in many provinces and cities in the country. Some products have reached foreign markets through unofficial channels.
We are looking forward to forming a private enterprise, thereby expanding our scale further in the future. However, at present, farmers are still facing some difficulties related to capital, technology, management and operation capacity, etc. Hopefully, the Party and State's policies on private economic development will soon remove obstacles and create better conditions for farmers like us to "shake off the mud" and stand up, become entrepreneurs, have influence and contribute to the overall development of our homeland."

Ms. Nga’s concerns are also the common reality of many farmer members in Ha Tinh. Despite the huge potential, private economic models from farmer members still face many barriers, from lack of capital, difficulty accessing the market, limited technology to lack of management skills… Therefore, farmers always expect to have a synchronous policy to support their development into rural entrepreneurs.

Mr. Tran Dinh Uoc - Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association (Provincial Fatherland Front Committee) said: Farmers' Association members who are good at production and business are the important link, helping the countryside escape the mindset of small-scale production, moving towards a sustainable commodity economy. Currently, household economy is the main economic model in rural areas. Each farming household is both a producer and a consumer, and is responsible for managing and distributing its resources. Many household farming models in Ha Tinh have gone beyond the limits of agricultural production, combining trade, eco-tourism, and agricultural product processing, contributing positively to the restructuring of the rural economy.
In practice, correctly recognizing the role of the household economy and having appropriate development policies will not only improve the efficiency of agricultural production but also contribute to the formation of a dynamic, creative and sustainable private economic sector. The Provincial Farmers' Association is actively implementing the contents of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development. In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on widely disseminating the contents of the Resolution to members and farmers. At the same time, it is necessary to orient members to develop the private economy but with linkages and concentrated production to create uniform products and form large commodity areas.
With determination, aspiration and guidance from the association, thousands of members are quietly cultivating not only fruit trees but also a sustainable and modern agricultural future.
