According to regulations, grade 9 students in the French bilingual program at Tran Van On Secondary School (District 1), Colette Secondary School (District 3), Hong Bang Secondary School (District 5), Chanh Hung Secondary School (District 8), Ngo Si Lien Secondary School (Tan Binh District) must take the French bilingual secondary school graduation exam to be eligible to enroll in grade 10 at high schools that implement this program. It is known that on average, each of the above secondary schools has about 30 grade 9 students studying the French bilingual program.

Specifically, students will take the French bilingual secondary school graduation exam on May 24 with two exams: French and math in French.

Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that after being recognized as graduating from junior high school and completing the junior high school graduation exam in the French bilingual program, the above students will participate in the 10th grade entrance exam within the framework of the bilingual French program according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

After the results of the 10th grade entrance exam and the French bilingual secondary school graduation exam are available, these students will be given priority to be placed in 1 of 3 schools in order of admission scores: Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, and Marie Curie High School.

The method for calculating the admission score for the 10th grade bilingual French program is as follows: (Average admission score for grade 10) x 2 + Average score of the French language test and math test in French in the junior high school graduation exam (in which the average admission score for grade 10 takes into account the priority system and the average score of the French language test and math test in French is from 5.0 or higher).

If students do not pass the entrance exam to grade 10 of the French bilingual program, they can still apply to another grade 10 high school according to the 3 wishes they registered for the entrance exam.

Experts from the Examination and Quality Assurance Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training noted that, in addition to students studying the French bilingual program of the above-mentioned secondary schools who must take the secondary school graduation exam of this program, according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, students who complete secondary school do not have to take the secondary school graduation exam but are considered to have graduated from secondary school to be eligible to take the 10th grade entrance exam next June.
