Da Nang is not only a city situated at the confluence of the sea and the river, but it also boasts precious forests – acting as the "green lungs" of the city. These forests have been protected by the community throughout history.

Son Tra Peninsula
Located about 10km northeast of Da Nang city center is Son Tra Peninsula (Son Tra District). This peninsula is considered a gem, a precious gift from nature, and the "green lung" of Da Nang city.
It is rare to find a place with a nature reserve like Son Tra, boasting such a diverse and rich natural ecosystem.
The Son Tra forest is home to many rare and precious flora and fauna, most notably the brown-footed langur - the "queen of primates".

Trung Son Forest
Continuing along the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh road for just a few kilometers leads to another natural forest in Da Nang: Trung Son Forest (Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district). This lush green forest is nestled amidst surrounding urban development projects and paved roads.
According to the elders of Trung Son village, since the village was founded, its people have been closely connected to the primeval forest. The Trung Son forest contains many types of ancient trees classified as rare and valuable timber, such as chestnut, ebony, lacquer, ebony, myrtle, and ebony, and is home to many bird species. There are also many historical relics hidden beneath the forest canopy.
Since the village was founded, the people have considered this forest a forbidden forest; no one is allowed to cut down trees or chop firewood. There were times when life was difficult and there was a shortage of fuel, but naturally, no one cut down trees in the forest for firewood.
If you go a little further, you'll find the vast green expanse of the Ba Na - Nui Chua nature reserve (Hoa Vang district)...
