Temples and palm trees are both closely intertwined with the lives of the Khmer people. Temples are considered symbols of the material and spiritual culture of the community, creating architectural heritage in the Mekong Delta. They are not only places of religious worship but also repositories of sculptures and artwork by Khmer folk artisans, and a means of disseminating humanistic values. Palm trees, on the other hand, produce unique local delicacies and offer breathtaking scenery at sunset and sunrise over the flooded rice fields.
