People should pay special attention when eating chicken to avoid "inviting trouble"

People with kidney disease should limit their intake of chicken.

The kidneys act as a sophisticated filtering system, constantly working to remove waste and toxins from the blood, ensuring homeostasis for the body. Chicken, although an important source of protein, contains a significant amount of purine. When consuming chicken, the body breaks down purine into uric acid, which puts an additional burden on the kidneys. Therefore, people with kidney disease should limit their intake of chicken and other protein-rich foods such as red meat, animal organs and some seafood.

People with cardiovascular disease

Chicken, especially the skin and fat, is high in cholesterol and saturated fat. Consuming too much cholesterol and saturated fat can increase blood cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, stroke and heart attack. People with cardiovascular disease or at risk of cardiovascular disease should limit their intake of chicken, especially the skin and fat.

People with digestive diseases

Especially for those with sensitive digestive systems or gastrointestinal problems such as irritable bowel syndrome, peptic ulcers, consuming chicken can become a challenge. The protein in chicken, although an important source of nutrients, requires a complex digestion process.

For people with weak digestive systems, processing this amount of protein can cause indigestion, bloating, abdominal pain, and even diarrhea. In addition, the way chicken is prepared also affects its digestibility. Fried, deep-fried, or over-grilled chicken often contains a lot of fat, which increases the burden on the digestive system and can cause unpleasant symptoms.

People with arthritis

Several recent studies have suggested a potential link between chicken consumption and an increased risk of rheumatoid arthritis. While the exact mechanism is still being studied, scientists believe that certain components of chicken, specifically a protein called type II collagen, may trigger an abnormal immune response in some people, leading to arthritis.

For people who already have rheumatoid arthritis, eating chicken can aggravate symptoms such as pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints. Additionally, if you have a family history of the disease, limiting your chicken intake is also an important preventative measure.

People who are recovering from surgery

After surgery, your body needs time to recover and heal. Chicken, although rich in protein, can also be difficult to digest and slow down the healing process. During this period, it is best to prioritize foods that are easy to digest and high in fiber.

People with cirrhosis

According to Oriental medicine, chicken meat is hot and has the ability to "help with damp heat". This means that when consuming chicken meat, the body will become hotter, making the "damp heat" condition in the liver - which already exists in people with cirrhosis - worse. The accumulation of heat and damp heat in the liver will cause negative effects on liver function, making the condition worse, and can even lead to dangerous complications.

In addition to chicken, people with cirrhosis should also avoid other hot foods such as goat meat, dog meat, alcohol, beer, spicy foods, etc. At the same time, priority should be given to foods that are cool, easy to digest, rich in fiber and vitamins to support the recovery process and protect the liver.
