"People ask, 'Why did you do this?', I say, 'Because I get to kiss Batman!'… What people don't understand is that it's not about the paycheck," Nicole Kidman replied.
Kidman received similar questions when she signed on to play Queen Atlanna in Aquaman — a role she reprised in the sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom . Nicole Kidman wasn't a fan of the Aquaman comics, but liked director James Wan and his horror films, so she signed on.
In fact, Kidman was thrilled when James approached her for the role because she initially thought it would be a horror film. "I really wanted to work with him on a horror film," Kidman said.

In recent years, Kidman's television roles have been as popular as her film work. Her Emmy-winning work on HBO's Big Little Lies was just the start of a string of TV credits that include The Undoing , Expats , Nine Perfect Strangers , and the upcoming Netflix series The Perfect Couple , which premieres September 5.
"I love the feature format because of the way it builds characters. It's more of a slow burn than a movie - where you only have two hours to tell your story and build characters," Nicole Kidman told L'Officiel .
