Huge debt due to drugs, male singer warns young people

Nam Taehyun is currently in a drug treatment and rehabilitation center. He shared and opened up on KBS's "In Depth 60 Minutes." This is the first time the singer has spoken out about his addiction.

During his time in the entertainment industry, he used diet pills to maintain his figure. He also took sleeping pills due to insomnia for many days. Initially, all of these drugs were prescribed by doctors.

However, over time, his use became more and more leading to abuse and it paved the way for his later drug addiction.

Nam Taehyun said his drug addiction caused him to lose all his assets and leave him with huge debts. He owed 500 million won (about 9.3 billion VND) and overdue credit cards. He not only sold his own house but also his parents' house because of the debt. The male singer plans to work part-time at a restaurant to continue paying off his debts.

He sold everything he had except for his guitar, a souvenir, his only remaining spiritual gift. Nam Taehyun also shared with the program's production team the constant messages from creditors demanding money from him. Drugs dragged the young singer's life into the mud of despair.

Nam Taehyun checked into rehab because he felt everyone around him leaving as his body and mind were destroyed by drugs.

"I want to tell young people, young people, never get involved with drugs because it is an act that destroys your life and everyone else's" - Nam Tae Hyun confided.
