To ensure the stable operation of rural water supply, the Center is currently managing and operating 26 centralized water supply projects with a total pipeline length of 726 km. In May 2025, the projects operated with an average actual capacity of 14,180 m³/day and night, serving 23,630 households using water, reaching 86% of the signed contract. The total water consumption in the month reached 328,284 m³, an increase of 22,527 m³ compared to the previous month. The average consumption reached 14 m³/customer. The water loss rate was controlled at 29.58%.
Implementing disaster-resilient water supply investment projects, the Center continues to implement key projects: The rural centralized water supply project for the 2021-2025 period is in the stage of preparing bidding documents and signing construction contracts; Component project No. 4 - supplying water to water-scarce and saline areas - has disbursed 7,665 million VND, reaching 30% of the construction volume. In addition, the Center has expanded the water supply network in Bien Bach commune (Thoi Binh) to cope with drought; cleaned tanks, replaced damaged pumps at many stations and surveyed the relocation of pipeline systems across traffic construction routes.
In the coming time, the Center will continue to focus on implementing tasks to ensure clean water for people, specifically: Strengthening management and effectively inspecting 26 water supply stations; Thoroughly handling the situation of arrears, water loss, and unpaid water use; Continuing to monitor the progress of investment projects, speeding up the repair, purchase, and maintenance of equipment; Evaluating criterion 17.1 of new rural construction in communes expected to meet the standards by 2025; Carrying out tasks of checking water quality and stably operating the water supply system.
According to the recommendations of the authorities, to ensure the quality of water used and protect rural water supply works, people need to pay attention to using clean water for the right purpose, economically and effectively, limit wasteful use, especially in the dry season, do not arbitrarily drill wells or illegally connect to the water supply system to avoid loss and contamination of water sources, regularly clean water tanks and containers at households, especially in the rainy season to avoid the emergence of pathogens, detect and immediately report to the water supply unit when there is a leak, damage to pipes, public water supply pillars, or water sources showing signs of abnormality, proactively collect and treat domestic waste, do not dump wastewater and garbage into canals, ditches, wells or near water supply works, proactively store water at the end of the rainy season to have enough water for use in the next dry season, propagate in the community about the importance of using clean water, protecting water sources and centralized water supply systems./.
