Department of Agriculture and Environment - Improving the effectiveness of typical agricultural cooperative models

On October 6, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported the results of implementing support for the construction of typical agricultural cooperative models that operate effectively in Ca Mau province. The selected cooperatives include: Artemia Vinh Chau Cooperative, Vinh Cuong Cooperative, Ba Dinh General Agricultural Service Cooperative, Quyet Tien Agricultural and Irrigation Service Cooperative, Tien Tien Agricultural and Irrigation Service Cooperative, with a total of 935 members. The models all meet all mandatory and priority criteria, and are classified as Good or better according to the provisions of law. During the year, the Department organized 72 training courses for more than 2,600 people, supported 18 young workers working at the cooperative; issued 72 planting area codes with more than 4,200 hectares of production according to VietGAP and organic standards; Of the total 20 cooperatives supported during the year, 05 cooperatives were supported to apply information technology and digital transformation (using FaceFarm electronic diary, WACA accounting software), of which 03 cooperatives were awarded computers for management and operation. Thanks to the synchronous support, 05 cooperatives expanded their scale, increased revenue, profit and created more jobs locally, while forming a sustainable consumption chain with businesses. In addition to the achieved results, the Department also pointed out difficulties in management capacity, small production scale, limited resources and the urgent need to promote digital transformation in agricultural cooperatives. At the same time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommended that the Central Government continue to improve specific support mechanisms and policies; at the same time, strengthen the training and fostering of cooperative officials to improve the quality of operations in the collective economic sector. The effective implementation of the above models not only helps improve the operational capacity of the collective economic sector but also contributes to building Ca Mau province's agriculture to develop sustainably and modernly, linked with value chains and stable consumption markets./.
